A buyer recieved his package but tracking info is showing return to sender. How does the order get marked as delivered?

Did the buyer keep the package or return it?

Package Delivered on Wednesday. I write on it "Return to Sender" and put it out for Thursday. 

Or...I catch the deliverer and tell them 'Return to Sender'; then it won't get marked as Delivered. It will be marked 'returning to sender'

Or... There is no such address so the deliverer takes it back to the office with 'Return to Sender'

He kept it and via ebay messenger he said he received it.

Since the buyer said he kept it, it's possible the carrier used the wrong button on the scanner when they scanned the package.  I've had Delivered scans on packages just picked up.  On the 20th check your seller dashboard and if you received a defect, contact ebay and have a rep check your messages. The defect should be able to be removed.

Then don't  worry any more as it is delivered and documented via buyer's response.

Thanks for the responses. So i called ebay a third time and was told not to worry and they released the funds to me however the tracking still was saying return to sender. So my next trip to the post office i spoke with a supervisor and showed message from buyer and supervisor marked package as delivered. The End.😀
