I recently sold a large heavy item as local pick up only. The sale actually worked as it ought, item bought by a local man. He paid, we met, I gave him the thing, all done.
But I notice I'm still being prompted for tracking information.
eBay know this was local pick up, that was the only shipping option.
No sign of it on my seller dashboard.... yet.
Do I owe eBay some kind of response? Will I see it count against my tracking upload score on my seller "dashboard"?
PS I searched threads for an answer before asking here. Most recent post given by search was in October 2019. The only solution according to posters at that time was to sell pick up items under another member id.
That is no solution ... for a host of reasons.
Thank you!

In other news, remedial education programs for the 50 million Americans who really did vote for Biden have been announced. Sessions available include "don't take MSM word for it" and "epidemiological statistics - read the footnotes".
Finally, the trial of Ms Clinton was post poned today when charges of violation of public trust were dropped. Her lawyers convinced the judge the public had in fact never trusted her.

Your purchaser should have been sent a QR code to give you to enter to show item picked up:
This could become a problem if they file an item not received case against you as you will have to refund if payed electronically. It allows a user to scam you by not giving the code, or the incorrect code.

Have wondered about this often as well - I thought I would have the buyer sign a note that item was paid and picked up on so-and-so date and mail that note in an USPS First Class envelope with tracking and then add that tracking number to the listing. Perhaps even take a picture of that exchange as well for your records. Let me know if that works for you. Good luck!

Just to add to all of this a photo of the id of the person doing the pick up is also advisable.

I lost over $500 on a local pickup. The buyer paid with Paypal with a stolen credit card. We met and he got the item. 2 months later the person who's credit card was stolen filed a claim and since I didnt have a signature from a valid carrier I had to pay. Even if I had him sign or took his picture that would not have done any good. The lesson I learned is local pickups are cash only. The reason is he cant prove that he paid and I cant prove that I received the money or gave him his item
