Evening everyone,

I have sold an item here and posted it weeks ago but Ebay hasn't released my funds yet. The item was sent via Royal mail as a letter and therefore, there shouldn't be tracking available on it, although there was a tracking number attached to the order. Checking the tracking number in the royalmail's website shows that the service doesn't support tracking.

I haven't asked the customer if he hasn't received it yet but my guess is that he/she has since I haven't received a reply back.

Is there a way to resolve this? Do I need to contact Ebay to get it resolved?

Even over there on your continent, you shouldn't poke a sleeping bear. Alerting your buyer that you cannot prove delivery is unwise, as you will lose an Item Not Received scandal quite royally.

Your hold is placed by PayPal, and it usually is no more than 21 days.

If you used a method without visible on-line tracking, then you may need to wait up to 21 days before the funds will be released. The worst possible thing to do in this case would be to ask the buyer if he received it, as that would give him the (correct) idea that you have no idea where it is.

Just wait it out. You might want to consider charging enough Shipping on future sales to support a method that provides tracking.
