Tracking Info Error or a Real Issue?

I scanned in my packages using the self serve kiosk (during after hours) on April 9th and placed them in the collection bin. 

Tracking info reverted back to PRE-SHIPMENT after it originally stated USPS IN POSSESSION. 

No updates since 4/10, and I am just curious if anyone else has had an experience like this or if anyone knows what this indicates.

There is another thread about this that you might want to read. The impression I get is that is just a tracking info error.

This has happened on some of mine.  I live close to the post office and sometimes I beat the "pre-shipment info" to the post office and get an acceptance scan at the desk then the pre-shipment shows later than the acceptance.  It's never caused a problem for me.

It seems to be an issue that started a little while ago. I had never seen it happen, and now I'm seeing it happen every one out of 3 shipments. 

I don't know what started it, but I'm looking forward to USPS ending it.

This has been an intermittent glitch on eBay for years. eBay will show that pre-shipment scan out of order while the USPS website does not show the same. It comes and goes and occasionally buyers do message about it so I refer them to the earlier scans.

A few years ago it was happening on almost every single shipment for most sellers so eBay fixed it at the time. But as I said, the problem has come and gone frequently. Usually I see it affect a handful of orders then it'll stop for a while.
