Tracking Don't MEAN A HOOT The System is Broken and Needs a FIX

3 out of the last 5 items I've bought had tracking on them within minutes and I've had to file claims for non-delivery.  The shipper, the seller, and eBay all contributed to one or more of these cases.

First I bought a pair of shoes that had almost immediate tracking but were never sent, then seller did a tracking update when I filed against them and it was totally bogus in that it didn't involve me or my address.  They did that to keep me from giving them negative feedback because the eBay computer only saw the item as delivered but didn't see that is was NOT DELIVERED TO ME so it erased the negative feedback I left them. ( scam seller and an ebay problem.) Ebay did reimburse me the full amount of the purchase.

Second I bought a coupling for my log splitter and it was shipped 2 day Fed-EX by my seller and is now 5 days over-due.  It has been sitting in the local distribution center for 3 days while I've had other items that went thru that very same center delivered while it set there.  I had to file a claim with Fed-Ex and I still don't know if I'll get my part or not since there is nobody to actually go find it. (shipper problem)

Third issue is really sad... I have bought hundreds of dollars of a consumable necessity for my mother from the same seller over the last 2 years and again... immediate tracking from UPS shows nothing happening.  I ordered early but now we're way over-due and as much as I hate it I've got to file a claim against the seller and go find a new supplier that can deliver.  In this case no excuses are acceptable,  performance is everything no matter who the seller may be. (Seller Problem)

No it's not about COVID... it's about laziness or poor business practices of the shipper or the seller...... eBay needs to send us TRACKING ONCE THE ITEM IS IN THE SHIPPER'S HANDS and NOT BEFORE.   That way we'll know if it's the shipper or the seller that is the problem.  Just buying tracking means NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING.  The tracking system is sorely broken and needs to be fixed.  Scammers can actually use the system to avoid negative feedback.   I want to be able to KNOW why my item is late and who is most likely at fault.  I don't want to leave a bad feedback report for an innocent seller, but right now I have to do a lot of research to find out where the problem exists.  And even then, a scammer can block any negatives left for them.

Sorry this is going on with you.

The one sent to a address that was not your has become a problem with the crooks.

On that you always need to get a statement from USPS on were the item was delivered, using it you file with the postal inspector in your are of mail and internet fraud against the seller.

Once you have proof you can also contact eBay and try for a refund.

The others situations are specifically due to USPS and it problems.

Sorry, but yes, it is about Covid, my post office is on half staff with reduced hours, the distribution center is closed due to Covid, and pkgs are being rerouted to another city.We are only getting mail delivered three times a week now.

This particular scam typically works by the seller addressing the item to a different address in the buyer's same zip code.   So, from the USPS point of view, the item was correctly delivered.   How then would the USPS offer proof the item was mis-delivered?
