Today not available as a shipping day

I am trying to ship my sales from late yesterday and this morning and today is not available as a shipping day, even though my items say then need to be shipped today.  My post office is open as well.  Am I allowed to date these Monday and ship them today?

@grandslamdealz   Yes, you can date them Monday and ship today ... there are times when the eBay Label Flow pull down menu does not have the correct choice.  Getting your Acceptance scan early will not have a negative effect.

I dated them Monday the 27th and dropped them off just now in person, today the 24th. Agent scanned them and didn't say a word. Let's see what happens? Anyone else do this?

I discovered the same thing.  One potential issue may be if you use SCAN forms when doing bulk shipping.  Since you can only have one SCAN form per day, will it allow the creation of a SCAN form on Monday since today's (Friday's) SCAN form is dated with Monday's date?

I have to chuckle about some of this ... I have reported the EBay Label Flow (ELF!!!!) issues on the Weekly Chat as well as through the ELF's Comments link on more then one occasion (I just love calling it "ELF" this time of year).  I printed 4 labels this morning and did not bother to see what date ELF is putting on them ...

Also, if you are using USPS today check their hours ... ours closes at noon instead of the normal 4:30 PM time ...

Just went back to look at the date, it says 12/27/21. However, the tracking shows it moving already so I don't know what it matters.

My local USPS Office (Conover, NC) will not scan any packages not dated the current date.  They claim they are reprimanded if they do so.  Therefore, I have to make sure my packages are dated for the day I am taking them.  The issue is, I have 3 USPS First Class Packages to send out by noon today (when the local PO closes), but not being able to select 12/24 is going to cause them to NOT scan the package.  Therefore, it will not be scanned until Sunday at the earliest in Greensboro, NC.  eBay keeps screwing up the little things that really affect us.  This is annoying.

This thread may be relevant, as it appears some offices are open and some are closed, and may explain why eBay considers the 24th a USPS holiday.

Additionally, the post office does not like (rejects) postmarked items that are handed over late, but loves postmarked items that are handed over early, as those puff up their performance numbers. 🙂

I know its too late now but... Technically  Friday was a holiday. Since Christmas was Saturday, Friday was the observance for Mon-Fri, 9-5 type jobs. Like when Fourth of July is on a Saturday, you get Friday off. I would guess, that was the criteria for not allowing it as a shipping date but unfortunately ebay's system didn't account for the Post Office to be open in real life.
