Why is eBay shipping blocking the date for packages being mailed off on Friday?
Our Post Office is going to be open until at least noon but the closest date I am able to get in eBay shipping is for Monday.
Our carrier is even delivering mail on Friday. In fact, all carriers probably will be delivering mail on Friday?
So why is eBay blocking Friday's date from being used?

I just noticed that as well! I went to ship 2 items which states they need to be shipped within 24 hours, but when I try to print the label, the earliest I can ship them is Monday!

Well the first label I printed, did so as the 24th ... but when I went to buy another label for another package is when it had changed with no option for the 24th at all.
I wanted to get all my packages done tonight in order to make it to the PO early tomorrow to get them out of the way ... but now what's the point?

And the bad thing is, eBay stipulation STILL says to Ship these packages by midnight of the 24th.
And yet they blocked us from using the date of the 24th.

Sorry I'm late with this info.
This thread may be relevant, as it appears some USPS offices are open and some are closed, and may explain why eBay considers the 24th a USPS holiday.
Additionally, the post office will likely reject postmarked items that are handed over late, but loves postmarked items that are handed over early, as those puff up their performance numbers. So if you postmark the 27th and ship the 24th, you are good to go. 🙂

I contacted eBay for Business and received a reply. The ship date of the 27th was provided by USPS due to some post offices with limited hours on Christmas Eve and eBay had no control over this. I was also told if I shipped out my packages on Monday, I would still be covered due to the post office's limited hours on Friday. Hope this helps answer some of your questions

This is lovely. When I tried to print a label the date offered by USPS was December 27th so I let everything go till Monday.
Now all my sales are showing that they are late and were supposed to be shipped December 24th

Thank you. Good to know.

Also, no matter that the date is the 27th, your mail will still be accepted and move when shipped on the 24th, and the delivery speed will look great!

I know its too late now but... Technically Friday was a holiday. Since Christmas was Saturday, Friday was the observance for Mon-Fri, 9-5 type jobs. Like when Fourth of July is on a Saturday, you get Friday off. I would guess, that was the criteria for not allowing it as a shipping date but unfortunately ebay's system didn't account for the Post Office to be open in real life.
