This Shipment Includes Fewer Tracking Updates....

Hello Again,

I just had another issue with 'ebay Standard Envelope.'

A customer just informed me that he has not received his item.

He wants to know why (it's been 1 week).

I mailed the item using 'ebay Standard Envelope.'

A tracking number was generated.

But that's it.  No more tracking except for this message:

'This Shipment Includes Fewer Tracking Updates.'

Yes,  Like NO Updates!

Question:  Does anyone know what's going on here?

Why does this happen?

If the customer opens an INS case all I have is a tracking number with no updates.

Finally, is there anything I can do about it?

Thanks Again, bdh1701.

"He wants to know why (it's been 1 week)."

What is the Estimated Delivery Date shown on the order?

The estimated delivery time was today, July 27, exactly 1 week.

The buyer can technically open an INR tomorrow. In which case your tracking number is useless because it does not show delivered and the buyer will win.

It worked in your other thread because it was "delivered"

You can try putting a trace on it with the post office, but I'm not sure that would even work for that class of delivery.

Thanks for the info.

What if I complain to ebay?

It seems to me ebay dropped the ball here... or was it the USPS?

If the buyer DOES file an INR, wait until the very last moment in the refund deadline to see if it is delivered, at which point you can upload the tracking.

eBay has no control once something is shipped. Not sure why it would be their fault.

Be sure to track the item on the USPS site as well as using the eBay tracking link because sometimes they are different...and by different I mean significantly different.

You will not be able to track any ebay standard envelope shipments with USPS, it is not conventional tracking

Try easyship tracking, google it up

In my opinion, when a buyer opens a case or emails me on the date it was supposed to be received...they are looking for a refund if no tracking can be shown. If its a repeat buyer they will wait longer per my repeat buyers as I return a friendly reply. Going to the post office in person with tracking number and talking to a clerk will help. Also at a USP or Fed Ex store. Tracking online is not always accurate lately. And with eBay standard envelope from what I have read here tracking is...not to offend others here...tracking is 0. You can send a friendly email to buyer. Wait for buyer to open a case. Will give you a few more days if item shows up. I usually wait 2 days before a case needs to reply to and needs a refund. I usually reply to buyer in a email on sold item and not the case that buyer opened. It gives you more time in case item shows up.
