Suspicious Seller

I hope this is the right location to post here as I am new but I got a problem with a seller. I bought one time from this seller before and eveything was fine, although, never recieved a tracking code but I did got the item.

So I thought I could trust this seller and I bought from this seller again. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/385814700498 No tracking code or information was given whatsoever. So the item was marked as: 'shipped' for 2 weeks and I was thinking it was shipped??? So still I recieved no info from the seller. I message the seller but nothing, litterly no contact. Complete radio silence, even when I asked for more information about the shipping after a couple of weeks?

The seller never bothered to contact me as to ask if I recieved the item? Seller ignores me. So I asked Ebay for help and like in a day, I got a refund, like right away? As if the seller/Ebay said: 'Now, I am done with you, cased closed'. Never got an explantion as why my order was never send? We are almost a month further. I was left in the understanding that the order was shipped. As that is what is says in the order details. But the seller never SHIPPED the ITEM!

I did get a refund but the seller is still selling things on Ebay. Sometimes this seller ships items and sometimes not? But it is never like in the pictures. You get a way smaller and different piece of wood then promised. And now.... I never got this item I ordered at all? And the seller blocked me? And we hardly had any contact. I send the seller one message in four weeks to ask for a track and trace? And I never got a reply, so this all feels really weird.

The item itself looks to good to be through. Some parts of wood look genuine but you will never get what is in the picture so if you get anything at all.....it's all a bit shady...

Does me wonder, why does Ebay allow this? I did contact them but they don't nothing about it for now?

If they don't ship consistently eBay will most likely restrict the account.

If your issue was an outlier, then eBay won't take action.

1 bad experience or even a couple doesn't deserve account action.

You can read these forums and see a ton of complaints from sellers being banned. A lot of them deal with item not received.

So like I said if they aren't shipping properly they will eventually get shut down.

Just be happy, you got all your money and you never have to deal with this seller again. 🙂

eBay isn't going to ban a seller based on a few bad buyer experiences.

That's why they offer the Money Back Guarantee for buyers.  Have you read it?

Here's the basic version:  There is an estimated delivery date in every listing.  If the buyer has not received his purchase within a day of that date, he can open an item not received case with eBay and has 30 days to do so.  No need to contact the seller.

The second part of the MBG is:  Receive an item not as described?  The buyer has 30 days to open an item not as described case with eBay.

Also, FYI, there is no eBay requirement that the seller use tracking; however, he is risking an INR case by not doing so.

Also, please make a note: There is very seldom a reason or need to contact eBay about those two above problems.

A few bad buyer experiences??? This seller pretends to ship items, recieves the money and blocks buyers if they start to ask questions. The seller never responded, never shipped the item? So he has totall freedom to do it again and if Ebay gives money back, cased closed and the seller can do whatever he likes...

Most likely situation is that the seller did ship.  He just doesn’t use tracking, so he has no way of providing a tracking number to you.  Nothing nefarious going on here.

So if  i am in a real store, as a costumer and suppose.... I would steal something, then no action would be taken, because, just because of ONE TIME, you cannot take actions? The store is not going to take action because ONE costumer stole something? On the internet, it's different I suppose...

You don't know this.. the seller doesnt reply and blocked me? Doesn't seem honest to me. Then the seller would seek contact. Don't make this normal that aren't.

There are a lot of sellers that don’t use tracking - low value items that are cheaper to ship without it.  It is a business model - plenty use it.  I know that we all like to look for ghosts around every corner, but there isn’t anything wrong with shipping this way.

I am not saying it it's wrong.  This happens all the time. I understand that shipping is done without a code. I have bought on Ebay before without a tracking code and I bought things on Etsy before without a tracking code. So I get that. Mostly it arrives within 2 weeks, sometimes longer. But after a month nothing. The fact that the seller doesn't respond at all I find that weird. And that he blocked me is weird too. While we hardly had any communication? There were times that I had to wait but other sellers always responded of helped to solve the issue. This ignoring/blocking is just really weird too plus no contact at all?

Seller is under no obligation to communicate with you.  Absolutely, he should, but it is his choice.  He likely thinks that you did receive the item, and you wanted a refund because there is no way for him to disprove that you didn’t receive it.  Plenty of buyers see a free item when they realize that tracking isn’t used - you’ve been lumped in with those bad buyers.

You got your money back & learned not to buy from that seller again. The assumption this seller does this to everyone is just that, an assumption. Time to let it go.
