I purchased an item and recieved this for the tracking number.
ID15245138187102CN
It doesn't seem to work anywhere that I've been trying to look. To add to frustration the seller isn't good with English and doesn't understand. They said they would get back with me but haven't. Item is supposed to arrive between April 8th to may 17th but it would be nice seeing a working tracking number still.

Buyers don't always know that an item will come from China - when the seller misrepresents the item location.
Though a review of the seller feedback can often point out this problem.

That's a package ID @kookythecat112 not a tracking number, so as far as eBay can see, you didn't receive your item, as that package ID will never say "Delivered".

I tried it there and it doesn't work.

Well then I guess of it never shows I can just open a ticket and get my money back at the very least. Still frustrating!

Would like to chime in here -- first of all, tracking does not make any difference to the buyer. Tracking is for the seller's protection, not yours. Why? Because you have the Money Back Guarantee which tells you that, if you've not received your package by May 18th, you can open an item not received case in the Resolution Center.
There is no reason or need to track your package as it makes its way to you. There is nothing you can do, no action you can take, until/unless it's late in arrival. IMHO, buyers who feel the need to track their package are just causing themselves undue stress. Sellers are not even required to obtain tracking. Follow the MBG.

Looks like you have purchased from a Chinese discount seller. There pretty much is no way to track those until, or unless, it is delivered. It might show on their end and it might not. I try not to order from China. Of course a lot of times they list it as U. S. even though it is not. The best way to prevent that is to look at their delivery date. It it has a delivery date up to 4 to 6 weeks, yep its China! 🤗😁

I'm not looking to start an argument, take this discussion off topic, or denigrate your opinion (most of which I agree with), but please do not assume that a buyer never "needs" a tracking number. I have very limited mobility and am often required to be at a medical clinic for treatment, etc. Because I live in an apartment building in a major urban area the USPS will not leave parcels if there is no one to receive them. I have to carefully arrange my ordering habits and other activities around my availability so I can plan to be at home to receive parcels. I have on occasion not been available for a delivery and since I have no way to get to the post office, I have had to "abandon" purchases and pay to have them re-sent by the seller. Tracking is the only reason I am now able to make many of the purchases I was unable to make before it became so widespread.
As I mentioned, I bring this up just to clarify, NOT to disparage your statement. Thanks for letting me "get this out there"!

I actually DO need tracking. USPS doesn't say when I'm receiving a package, and unfortunately I've had packages stolen before due to this because there are times I'm not home when mail is delivered. Also I live in a trailer park without lockboxes.

Just make a claim.

If you have seen a repeated pattern of your packages being stolen, would it be practical for you to obtain a PO box at your local post office?
