Started a return, package given to different USPS, will the return still go through?

I started a return for my item due to it not working, and eBay contacted the USPS in my city (from what i can tell), although i dont have a printer so i had to print the label from a relatives house in a very close by city, and i dropped the package off at the USPS there, so what i want to know is if the package will still be shipped and that eBay will acknowledge it and give me my refund when its time for that? The tracking number says that USPS is awaiting the item, even though i dropped it off yesterday, so I'm a bit worried.

It would have been better if you would have gotten a receipt at the postal counter. But it should be ok. It's only been a day and the packages don't always get scanned right away.  Sign up for tracking notification online so you can get updates. Ebay did not contact the usps in your city. It simply provided you with a return shipping label. It is the seller that will refund you not ebay.
