Shipping

Hey can you help I sold an item I had a set shipping price, but was able to give them a discount for shipping on the invoice.  They have paid me, but I can not adjust shipping price to the current shipping discount.

How can I lower the shipping price on the shipping label payment?  I will lose money!

Re: Shipping

I'm a little confused.  So you offered them a discount on shipping.  You then have to pay the shipping cost.  USPS isn't going to honor whatever discount you offered the buyer.

Re: Shipping

You can't. You don't get to negotiate the price when that price is set by the post office. If someone wants a shipping discount you would need to weigh the package and see what options are available based on weight and size and where the customer is located and take that quote to see if what they paid can be discounted. Always use calculated shipping on your listings if you are not sure what to charge so you don't loose out.

Re: Shipping

Sorry but you are going to lose money here. Sellers are free to give any shipping discount they want to a buyer, but the carriers aren't going to honor that price with you.

Otherwise I'd just give 100% off shipping discounts to all of my buyers and USPS will go bankrupt giving me free shipping for everything.

Re: Shipping

Sorry, you were the one that gave the buyer a discount on the shipping.

You have to make up the difference when you ship.

Have a great day.
