Lately I have noticed that many dealers are not shipping to Puerto Rico. We use the same mailing system as the US. Sellers are losing sales. I don't know if Ebay has imposed any new restrictions and if so why?

We have never had a problem shipping to PR. Maybe I think some people think selling to PR is international shipping which it is not.

I have not heard of any eBay restrictions shipping to PR. I personally never had a problem selling and shipping there.
Some sellers will not ship to PR because it is not a USA 'state' but a 'territory', so they don't feel the shipping would be as protected.

Shipping to PR is a domestic destination, but correct, some people consider it, International. I have friends and family that live there and I constantly visit the island. However, I will indeed say that I've noticed that there is a slight delay in sending parcels there. I always ship my items Flat Rate Priority mail, and it was a 3-4 days transit, I'm in the Midwest, but ever since C19, it's been more like 7-10 days transit.

Not sure why, I shipped something Tuesday and it was delivered today 🙂
I think because there are people that do not realize that it is the same mail system.

More people might be using Fedex and UPS since USPS prices have had many increases recently.

It is frustrating to see Alaska, Hawaii, PO Boxes, and contiguous states excluded when the seller ships USPS. They're ignorant.

It is all about ignorance on many sellers' part. It's amazing how many people aren't aware of shipping rules when they choose to sell online. It's the same time frame for me to ship to Miami, Fl. Personally I don't mind as it opens up the pool of buyers for me....

If you can figure out why some sellers don't ship to PR, maybe you can use advanced knowledge and figure out those who do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii or PO boxes.

You signed up as being in Puerto Rico as your country.
You needed to sign up as United Sates and then choose Puerto Rico as the territory.
Right way......
Wrong way.....

I'm always OK shipping to PR via the USPS. Many ebays sellers just have the mindset that it must be treated as international.

My buyer has a NYC address listed but wants me to send item to him in PR? He says that I need to change something in my listing so that he can pay for it. It looks as though HE needs to change his address, as noted above. I was on the phone to eBay support for 20 minutes trying to figure out how to resolve this…. Still no answer other than me canceling the order and relisting it with global/international shipping. ? I just haven’t encountered this before. I have no problem shipping to PR, as long as I don’t get stuck with a high shipping bill etc….

it is a seller listing shipping restriction issue
and....... PR is not global/international 😊
