I have several small flat items for sale — antique cards/valentines, postcards, stamps, small documents, etc. They generally sell for less than $10. I would like to find a way to ship them from Ebay as first class letters, not packages, which cost too much. If I put a card into a bubble mailer, it is then too thick to be a letter, and postage is a minimum of $4.00. Usually these items don’t qualify for media mail. What to do?

If the category allows it you can use Ebay Standard Envelope with a sometimes works tracking method and insurance for a bit more than the cost of a stamp.
It is a special case of First Class Letter Postage

Some of the categories that you named (postcards, stamps, etc) Are eligible for the special eBay "standard envelope" as described in the other post. Details here:

For items that are not eligible, just go ahead and mail them as letters. You can't purchase that postage through eBay, so just put stamps on them.
