Shipping label problem

So about a week ago i shipped a package through ebay, and bought a fedex prepaid shipping label from ebay as well. When checking the tracking number it shows that its in transit about to reach the buyer. but this morning i recieved a package that included the product. when i went to fedex to try and reship it with the same prepaid label they said they couldnt take it as its previously been scanned and in transit. I dont wanna pay for another shipping label and am not sure whether or not to contact ebay or fedex for this problem as i need a refund on the prepaid label so i can generate another one

You wont get a credit for a pkg that was scanned and shipped..why was it returned to you?

Once the label is scanned, it's used and you can't get a refund on a used label.

Why was the package returned?

my lego nintendo set, was shipped with fedex service as it was cheaper. right now its saying its in transit in the state of the buyer but i just got it sent back to me today, not sure to contact ebay or fedex

exactly they said i needed a new label, but i didnt want to pay for another:/ and not even they can explain why it was shipped back

Tracking still shows it headed to the buyer, but it was returned to you?

If it was FedEx's fault the package was returned, they should re-deliver it without having to pay more postage.

What does tracking show?

tracking shows in transit, that its in the state which the buyer is in, but since i bought the fed ex prepaid label through ebay, would i argue with ebay or fedex for a return on that label. as im about to buy a new one right now

The listing said it would be shipped by USPS Retail Ground and you shipped it with FedEx?

You never want to change the carrier without asking the buyer first.

i did message the buyer about that and they were fine with the fedex shipping, i just forgot to change in description. but thats not the point im asking haha. im trying to figure out which service do i contact in order to get my refund for the first shipping label that didnt work

the lady at fedex was about to take it in as well but because the first shipping label says its in transit, she couldnt scan it again bc technically its in use

Find out why the package was returned.  If an apartment number was left off, Fed Ex will NOT refund the cost of shipping.  You will need to get the apt number and pay for a new label.  The buyer needs to pay to reship if s/he gave an incomplete shipping address.  If Fed Ex determined that the package should not have been returned, then perhaps they will accept it back and send it on again.
