I thought the price was supposed to go back down after the holidays.
This adds to higher fees for eBay too.

The yearly increase was effective on 1/24........well, one of yearly increases.........

It did go back down and then increased. My shipping costs are mostly a mess right now. I need to take the time to reevaluate them and change accordingly.
It was expected, the increase.
Here is to acclimating on so many levels and in so many ways.
May the increase be all of our biggest problems that we have to overcome this year,

Your feedback is 24,000. If you don't know that the U.S. Post Office increases postage rates annually in January I can't help you.
I started raising my shipping and handling on almost everything back in October because of the temporary holiday increases. Why bother changing them until now? Once this month is over I will review my higher rates as needed.
So it is clear, next January in 2022 the post office will raise the price of postage for the 50th year in a row. Maybe not on every class of postage but most likely on anything that will affect on-line sellers.

it did go back down. For nearly a month.
Most of my items go 1st class. I adjusted for the 25 cent surcharge that came out in October, and it falls in OK to cover to regular annual increase.
UPS, and FexEx slid their annual increases in ahead of USPS pretty much undetected. (unless you read the "announcements" that are posted by eBay)

I would like to get a refund from USPS for all the late packages that I paid "2 day priority" and some with "Signature required" when they were delivered 2 to 5 weeks after shipping during the holidays.
I know I could file claims, but you know they make it hard and difficult! Doing my taxes are easier than filing a claim(s).

Where did you see/hear that information?
Never known prices to increase (post office does it every year that I can remember}
Can not recall when rates when ever down
That would be nice though if it were true

There was a notice about it pre holidays that rates for USPS in particular are going up while rates from other carriers have already been increased. If you're a high volume/low cost seller that offers free shipping you'll have to do some adjustments to your listings to keep up with shipping and especially the increased percentages of the costs in your FVFs.

Shipped a 4 oz. package today and the old cost was $2.84, while the new cost is $3.12, which equates to approximately a 10% increae for USPS FC in that weight category. Still substantially cheaper than FedEx or UPS.

weird thing is, i was going to post a thread asking if there was an unannounced cut in shipping rates--today i received what appear to be partial refunds on the shipping costs for three packages i mailed late last week. i've never received anything like these before, so i'm kind of confused (the item lines in MP don't provide much by way of detail). anyone else get MP deposits today that are noted as "shipping"?

You and those like you are why I keep coming back to the boards! Such good ideas. I never thought to start adjusting for the inevitable. Just plain dumb of me. Now I have work that I really need to catch up on.
Thank you for sharing.

Sounds like the APV thinks you overpaid.
Were you close to a price break point weightwise on any of them?
Maybe the APV scale was off, and you got a little "perk" 🙂

They added a peak surcharge from around October to the end of December, then it dropped off. It was 25 cents for FC, and 40 cents for Priority.
Now those are gone, and the new rates are in.

I didn't think any of the 2-3day priority delivery times were guaranteed, more like estimates? perhaps I have that wrong?
