Shipping gone wrong

We placed an order with a seller in Utah. We live in Finland (Europe = international shipping). It was a relatively small package. The package arrived and we picked it up. To our surprise, the content of the package was completely wrong. I was able to remove the shipping label enough to see another shipping label underneath. The sender was someone in North Carolina and the package was addressed to someone else. I contacted the North Carolina seller and they confirmed that the product was sent to another person. My seller in Utah says that he did not put the shipping label on the package, but eBay Shipping did it. I have complained to eBay several times, but they only respond that I cannot get a refund - they clearly have not read the whole story. What on earth should I do now? The product I purchased had a money-back guarantee. Somehow I'm not titled to any compensation? How is Ebay Shipping able to mix shipping labels this bad?

Did you open a return within 30 days with reason: wrong item sent ?

If you received it within the last 30 days:

Go to your purchase history and click return item and select, the item doesn't match the description as the reason.
Ebay should take care of the problem.

It is possible that Ebay had put a label on the package and possibly mixed up the labels. Regardless i would not worry too much about those details and just open a Item not as describe return. You do not have to contact the seller after you make the claim.

How to request a return through My eBay

  1. Find the item in your Purchases - opens in new window or tab.
  2. Select Return this item from the menu on the right.
  3. Select your reason for the return and enter a comment about why you're returning it.
  4. If the item arrived damaged, broken, or faulty, you must add at least 1 image (with a maximum of 10) relevant to the reason you're returning the item for, and showing any scratches or defects. Make sure to follow our Images, video and text policy when you're uploading images.
  5. Select Confirm return.

We actually did this, but the only response was, that we do not receive money back.

Package was not sent by our seller, so I don't know where and how to return the package. It is fairly large component and I would prefer to have it out from my house 🙂

Things took a pleasant turn, when we received yet another package, which is the one we ordered. Nevertheless we still have someone else's package and no response how to proceed.
