Shipping fee

So I sold an item for 37.54 plus shipping. I chose the option to print the shipping label through eBay, which was about 8.50. The customer paid for the shipping extra, but it took that fee out of the 37.54. At the end I only had 28 and change available. What happened to shipping money the buyer paid? Why did it take away from my available funds?

Re: Shipping fee

" I'm not the only one confused and annoyed by eBay's complicated and convoluted fee structure."

Nothing complicated or convoluted about this, unless you have a comprehension problem?

  • Once an item sells, eBay charges a final value fee, which is a percentage of the total sale amount, plus a per-order fee.
  • The total sale amount includes the item's selling price, handling charges, some shipping costs, sales taxes, and other applicable fees.
  • The final value fee percentage varies depending on the category of the item sold.
