Hi fellow ebayers , I am lucky enough to have sold two items this weekend , practically the same thing . So I played around with the shipping estimator. Buyer A , buys item and lives next state over , 284 miles . Buyer B buys item and half way across the country at 1411 miles . Same exact box , same weight , same dimensions, yet Buyer A has to pay one dollar more than Buyer B . I don't get it . It's making me look like I am cheating Buyer A . But I am using ebay labels . Any insight from anybody on this . Thank you

The difference is likely the taxes each buyer is paying.
This is the most likely explanation. FedEx labels aren't actually billed to the seller until after delivery, but eBay would have collected any sales tax applicable on the estimated amount. (some states do charge sales tax on shipping)

You're not inputting something correctly

We can not answer from generalities.
We would need size, weight, from ZIP and to ZIPs to answer.

Everything is exactly the same , went thru it 3 times before I posted this , the only difference is the address

The package is 10lbs , 30x20x5 , my zip is 65802 , and buyers are 02919 and 67003 , and buyer 67003 is paying 96 cents more than buyer 02919

Which shipping service? UPS? FedEX?
I ask because I just plugged all that information into eBays shipping calculator for a "Large Package" (anything with a dimension larger than 18" [I think it's 18"] is considered a "Large Package") and my results were significantly more than 96¢ in difference.

Did I miss the shipping method you are selecting? I don't see who you are using to ship. USPost office, UPS, FedEx?

I'm going to guess that it was the two Tyco US-1 Trucking sets sold today.
Shipping details specified FedEx Ground or Home for shipping, or local pickup.
(am I correct, @zeeduke?)

One listing seems to be flat rate at $30 to any location. I say seems to be because it shows $30 for any zip code that I try to use. Even ship to you it is $30

One was flat rate , but when I printed label to find out the cost , it's then I figured this out .

I have no information for why the charge is more for the closer location, but I just want to caution you.... eBay estimates for FedEx and UPS are often incorrect. You find out when you get billed later and there is nothing you can do about it after the fact, you can't even discuss it with FedEx because eBay is the shipper of record essentially.
If I ship FedEx, I get the quote from FedEx and purchase the shipping label directly from them.
