Hi Ebay Community!
What types of boxes do you use and shipping services do you select for shipping? I have used the priority boxes from the post office since they are nice size, sturdy and free. But recently I have been penalized by USPS since I selected "Priority Mail" and used a priority flat rate box. Should I tape off the "flat rate" markings on the box? Or is there a better source for boxes? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Flat rate boxes are only for flat rate shipping...........you can't alter the boxes to make them lst class/Parcel/general priority, etc......
You can buy boxes on line.........but I imagine many people scrounge them from businesses....... we get them from people stocking at W/m, Dollar Store, drug store......etc. Always ASK if you can have them......some, at least at WM, have to be returned.

Some other "priority" boxes, other than "flat rate" are available free at USPS dot com. Ship free to you.

Priority boxes can ONLY be used for Priority.
Flat Rate boxes must be use with Priority Flat Rate shipping fees.
You cannot use Priority boxes for anything else.
You cannot unassembled and turn them inside out and use them as ground.
You can buy boxes in the sizes you want on eBay or any number of online sites.
You can also reuse boxes from shipments to your home or have friends and neighbors save them for you. Just be sure to clean them up and remove other labels.
You can also search "offer up" or MP for boxes or packing material.

AHAH! I honestly never noticed that! Thank you so much for pointing that out! I will be way more careful when I order from them. Unfortunately they don't offer the medium size in "non flat rate!" Thanks so much for your quick reply!!!
