I have what looks to be an incomplete address. Should I contact the buyer or just cancel the order listing that there is a problem with the address? Should I do both? I have read this can be a common scam. I haven't sold in a few years and would like to try an do what makes the most sense.

Bottom line... you have to have a good address to ship. Contact the buyer and let them know that you'll cancel the sale (cite 'Problems with buyer's address) and will relist for them to repurchase. They can give you a complete address at checkout. Good luck.

Good advice that mtgaves7984 posted. It always is a good idea to reach out to the buyer so they are aware.
If they message you to change the address from what is on your Ebay invoice, do not do it. You will not be covered by Ebay if any problems happen. Contact them to complete there address on file, cancel listing, relist and sell again. Good luck

If ebay will generate a label with the provided address then I ship if eBays system is telling me to ship.
If you cancel for issue with buyers address and it's not accurate they can leave you negative feedback that won't be removed.
A lot of sellers here investigate too much and a lot of times it's based on incorrect and outdated google maps data.

Well I guess the first question is WHY do you feel it is incomplete?

I agree - if it's an insufficient address, you won't be able to generate a label. It happened to me and - I couldn't print the label because something was wrong. I notified the the buyer and never heard from her. So I had to cancel the sale.
