Shipcover Insurancd Question

With all these postal delays, what happens if a buyer files an item not received but you have Shipcover?

To be specific, the FAQ says a person can file a claim for missing item after 30 days from the estimated due date.

However, what happens if with all these delays, a buyer opens an item not received case at like day 15, ebay will force a refund?

Then what happens if the item is later delivered due to the delays?

Would shipcover still cover the item since its Ebay’s insurance and the buyer got a refund from an item not received case?

No, Shipcover would not cover you.

Re: Shipcover Insurancd Question

In the scenario you proffered a seller could use the tools available to them to minimize losses.  {When "stuff happens" the seller is going to lose money - it is a sad fact of selling}

When an INR case is filed, check the tracking.  If there is movement in the last 10-days, contact CS and ask for an extension of time to respond to the INR case.  I have had sellers do that to me several times this month and the INR time got extended 10 freaking days!!!!

IF eBay forces a refund before an item is delivered, depending on the value of the item and the seller's 'economic assessment' the seller could file and pay the fee for the USPS Package Intercept process.  When this is successful, it limits a seller's loss because the do not lose the money AND the item.

Also when tracking shows a package is 'stuck,' a Seller could commence the 3-step Missing Mail process.  Often, regardless of complainers notes here, this process gets the package moving.  It costs nothing and often relaying information to buyers, that you noticed item is stuck and are advocating for them by filing the MM process, often that eases buyer's angst and avoids INR cases.

So a seller is not a hapless victim in the shipping process and there are a few tools one could use.

Oh and if one has questions about shipcover often paging them (use the @ before name) will get a reply here.  Do it like this:  @shipcover_insurance

Re: Shipcover Insurancd Question

Hello.  ShipCover offers coverage for lost or damaged packages only.  There is no coverage for delay.  In the scenario you described, this package would not be covered.  Thank you.

Re: Shipcover Insurancd Question

From what I understand you must wait 30 days to file a claim. If the buyer files a claim for INR before the 30 days. Is that sufficient proof to send to ship cover to get your claim accepted. I'm currently in this situation. My item shipped 2/22. The item should have been delivered 2/26. However, tracking just shows 2/26 item in transit to next facility. Item will arrive later than expected. I've spoken with the Postmaster and she had me do the missing mail process. She didn't sound too hopeful. Even though I am anxious about the situation I had peace of mind because I purchased the insurance. My item's value is $760. I thought I was covered, but now I am worried. I've messaged the buyer many times, but I don't ever get any responses from him.
