Seller sent my package to wrong address

I recently ordered an item and the tracking said it was delivered, but I never received it. I checked with my apartment to look at the cameras at the time of delivery and they never saw my package being delivered. So I called UPS and they said my package's address of delivery doesn't match the address I provided them. I tried to file a "did not receive" claim to ebay but it ended in the seller's favor because it was technically delivered. I have the option to appeal but what proof can I obtain to win this? I'd also like to mention I didn't notice the seller was based in India and the item was being sent from Pennsylvania but the tracking said it was sent from Illinois.

Re: Seller sent my package to wrong address

You need to get a written letter from UPS on their Letter Head, that states the Tracking Number was not delivered to your address.  Attach this letter to your appeal to eBay.

What they did is a well known scam and if you don't prove to eBay that you did not receive the item the decision will stand.

What is the eBay Item number of the item you did not receive?

Re: Seller sent my package to wrong address

My ebay item number is: 306055551594

I called UPS again and they said I cannot do anything because my address I told them doesn't match the address the package was delivered to, so I would have to get a response from the seller to confirm the address (who is not responding to me at all). How can I get a written letter from UPS if they won't provide me any more information on my package?

Re: Seller sent my package to wrong address

I checked their store and they have no items being sold, so the item number may not exist anymore. Their store name is homedecor11

You need to go to you local UPS and take with you the information from eBay that shows the Tracking Number is associated with your account.  Once they see the Tracking Number they should be able to state in a letter that the Tracking Number was not delivered to your address.  They won't likely state to who and where the Tracking Number was delivered but they can state it was not to your address.  On you account for the order does it not show the Tracking Number?  Print this out for UPS to see.

Is this the item you ordered?

Re: Seller sent my package to wrong address

If you can't win with eBay and you paid by credit card, contact your card company.  Let them know it was the fake tracking number scam.

That scam was running neck and neck with the compromised gift card scam but, it's now pulled out ahead. It's the " lead horse " in that race.
