I've just returned from my local post office to drop off parcels. I raised an issue that I ran into with a buyer that had not yet received a parcel that was picked up from my residence by USPS on January 13th. the representative at the post office indicated that the Cincinnati USPS distribution/sorting facility has significant issues with both staffing and systems, with packages stacked in piles that have not been scanned or sorted for movement to the next location. Very concerning as a seller, and for my customers who face excessive delays in receiving their order. I was told by the representative to contact the USPS Consumer Affairs department, who I am told is now supervising the facility to clean up this mess. I was provided a number, but am hesitant to place it in this forum as ebay will flag as personal information. I recommend that you go online and Google USPS Consumer Affairs Office Cincinnati Ohio which will provide the information that I have received. I hope this information is helpful to those of you in the Southwestern Ohio area.

I hear you. I am also in the Cincinnati area, and although I have not sold on ebay lately, I have been buying several items (mostly sports trading cards and trading card sets), which the packages are fairly small. Since mid-December, I have had SIGNIFIGANT delivery delays. For small items like baseball cards, almost all sellers use a tracking method that is cheaper and doesn't get regular updates. The tracking number always starts with "ESUS". It's basically a first class letter with some tracking. Since mid-December, I have waited over 30 days for three different items to be delivered (two of them were coming from within the state of Ohio!). I am still waiting on some cards that were shipped January 3rd from California. According to the tracking, they made it to Columbus, OH on Jan. 20th, and the tracking was updated today to "Out For Delivery" in Sacramento, CA, where the seller is! I have 6 different items on my ebay "Purchases" page that I paid for over two weeks ago (and shipped timely) that I still don't have. When I check the tracking on them, they never give any info, and it is says the Expected Delivery Date is "Running Behind". It is a complete and total cluster-you-know-what.

Unfortunately, the situation doesn't seem to be better. I have had 3 packages in the last 3 weeks that leave my local Cincinnati post office and then they drop off the radar. My local office tells me to enter lost mail requests but it doesn't seem to help. I will try contacting the USPS consumer affairs department that the first person on the thread recommended.

I have been buying in state here in California from the sellers . also I been asking sellers that are out of the state about shipping UPS before I do the BIN or bid , they all have said yes and some even offered FedEx shipping also. Interesting thing is I haven't had any issues with USPS shipping from Montana, Arizona , New Mexico, Nevada ,Oregon ,Idaho and Washington .

This problem is so annoying with the Cincinnati USPS Distribution Center... especially when items are tracked as being received in Cincinnati at 6:30pm or later only to be re-routed to Shreveport - Dallas - North Dakota -
Indianapolis (where it sits for 3 days) and then re-routed back to Cincinnati and finally to Loveland. I used to think it only happened on the weekend shift... but now it doesn't matter what day of the week it is received. Unfortunately, there is nothing that I can do to relieve my frustration. I could have driven to Baltimore to pick up my package of yarn and back home in a shorter period of time. I sure hope I receive the yarn before Christmas.

So this problem is still going on, nearly a year later?

According to the post, yes. I’m not sure why you would doubt it. Oh, I get it - you are reporting the post for being too old. Got it.

Why do you care if the thread is reported due to its age?
It is an old stale thread.

It might not be of used to you, but someone found it useful. It really is the continuation of a thread. The zealousness in reporting all threads is way overboard.
We actually had some pretty unfortunate behavior where one of the usual suspects reported a thread that was several months old. Catch on that one was that the original poster came back to provide an update on the situation from the original post. Even though was a clear continuation of a thread, it was called out as being too old, reported, and closed down very quickly.
