Hi, I purchased something from a seller and recieved an item that was different from the one pictured, so returned the item. The seller approved the request (which REMOVES THE ABILITY TO ASK EBAY TO STEP IN AND HELP), but sent me a shipping label that not only doesn't have the sellers address, but it also isn't my return address! It is to the amazon returns, so I assume this seller is involved in arbitrage. However, the return address is some random one in maryland, while I can see that the sellers address is in california. This means that if there is any problem with the return and it is sent back to sender, the seller can simply claim I never returned the item! Please help, this needs to be shipped in 5 days. I just sent the seller a message but at this point would feel much more comfortable if ebay just helped me with exactly what I should do. I guess I will call the help center in a few days if nobody knows how I can escalate a return even after the seller sent a shipping label.

Since the return label came FROM the seller, the seller can't then claim the address is incorrect or that the item was never returned. So return the item with the label.

There's no reason to escalate this. Use the label. The item doesnt have to be returned TO the seller, it has to be returned to the address on the label you were issued. Return addresses don't have to be the seller's own address.

The seller might live in California and have the items dropshipped from another location. The return address is probably the dropshippers address.

eBay is monitoring only the return address shown on your Returns page.
Does it match the address on the label? If not, eBay will not consider the return complete when it is delivered.

The only thing eBay monitors is the tracking number on the label the seller provided. It doesn't matter where it is going to. That's on the seller.

@monkey220ms, did your seller
1. send the label directly to your email address as an email attachment, or
2. upload the label into the case for you to download from the case, or
