I bought an item that just had freight in the postage details. When I went to pay I got a message from EBay saying to contact the seller for shipping costs. I sent a request for an invoice and when I got no response, sent a reminder. Still no response. It seems to me this is a way for sellers to renege on the sale if they don’t like the final price. They can cancel the sale after 4 days, the buyer gets a no payment strike on their account even though it was not their fault and the cynical (at best) seller gets no consequences so beware those “freight costs” listings

How long did you give the seller to respond? I'm assuming this was an auction and not a buy it now so maybe the seller will contact you on freight options? If you care to share the item number maybe we can offer a bit better advice.

You are in the UK. If that seller does not ship outside of the USA, that is why he is ignoring you. Incase you did not know, these are the USA boards. Don't bid on anything outside of the USA unless you know for sure that the seller ships to your country and you should know the shipping before you bid/buy.

The seller never did send that invoice - just tried to get me to send them my email address and other personal details. Turns out it was a scam. They cancelled the order for non-payment, this means you can’t leave negative feedback
