Hello,
The seller just asked me to pay €20 more for shipping and item I won last evening.
What do I do? Should I comply with his/her request?
I won the auction and sent seller a message to let him know that I was notified that my max bid won and that I made the payment right away.
I woke up today and as usual I check the messages and emails that I get over night.
The seller had messaged me 2 times with the same message asking for 20 euros more.
This is the auction I won and paid and the sellers message.
I've attached the sellers messages and mine.
I don't really want to create a problem with the seller for 20 euros. I kinda agreed to pay the extra money to him. I wrote this here because it's the first time it happens to me in 6 years of my ebay "career".
I'm more interested to learn if this happens again am I forced to comply with the seller?
Thanks, Natasha

You only pay shipping fee that was listed they cannot ask for a penny more.
If they do not ship then open an INR case.

This is my last message to the seller, I will pay him the extra fee if needed.
But am I paying something that I shouldn't ?

What I see is €20 shakedown in progress. The seller likely won't ship, or will ship by the least expensive route and pocket an extra €20 on the deal.

I have the same problem.
The seller exhibited shipping $ 70!
How to refuse to buy I do not know.
Who will tell? Thank you
Report them to eBay. Sellers are not allowed to change the shipping after the fact.
If I make a mistake setting up my sale it's my own fault and I don't make as much money.

Thanks for the info guys, the seller still keeps saying he wants the extra 20 euros. He didn't even send me a paypal invoice when I asked him for it. But yet he still sent me a message that he wants 20 euros more.
But I know how to proceed now. Thanks everyone.

I went to the listing, and changed my country to ALBANIA, and the shipping displays as EUR 19.00 so you do NOT owe your seller another EUR 20, but since you already agreed...
You are never obligated to pay any more than what is displayed on the listing. If the seller made a mistake, s/he is responsible for paying the difference.

I'm located the US so I'm not to sure if the 20 Euros the seller is asking for would be considered a lot to pay for packaging &handing . But what I sell on ebay is artwork on paper some of which is pretty rare and very collectible, so you would think that when I say on the listing there is a $10 packaging and handling fee, so I can package the artwork correctly for the item to arrive at the buyers address in the same condition I said it to be in on the listing, they wouldn't have problem with paying the extra $10.00 right. Well no it's more like a very big WRONG! wrong for in me asking for an extra fee just for packaging materials and my time it takes for me to package the item and send it on it's way. I'v got buyers **bleep**ing ad moaning from all directions. I even had one buyer (WHO ONE THE AUCTION) with a $274.00 closing price attached to it. Asking me to just send it to him in a manila envelope and drop it the mail just like that. When I tried to explain to him of what the condition the art would be in when it arrived at his address. He got so **bleep** off at me he withdrew his bid and told me **bleep** OFF. and then sent me a follow up message telling me how I should be running my ebay business. I'm amazed how so many ebayers out there are so penny wise and dollar foolish. I'm just sayin

The $10 should be included in either the Item price or the shipping. You are likely breaking eBay rules by putting extra fees in the description and adding them to the price after the auction is closed. You need to take some time and read the rules that apply to you as a seller. As a buyer I would not care if the auction was $10 or $1000, if you send me a message after I've won the auction I would withdraw my bid and report you for improper seller behavior.

I hate to tell you this, but your shipping is outragous. A padded envelope, sandwitch those paper items between nice rigid cardboard, and send it first class. Most buyers are going to balk at 17 for shipping paper items.

I just would like to express to you how greatful I am of you in thinking it okay to tell me how I should run my business here in ebay land. Your vast knowledge, and concern in the way I should package an item for shipping shows me you know very little in buying and receiving collectible artworks on paper. And would like you to know I do understand your concerns in the extra $5-$10 charge added to the total price of the item. How ever what you seem to be over looking, and or not understanding is I to purchase artwork from other sources of which some , not all ,but some are shipped to me inadequately packaged. These parcel's left at my door are so mangled, in every pretzel shape you can think of condition. I don't even bother opening the tube/box for the simple reason I already know what condition the item will be in when opening up whats left of the flimsy packaging materials used buy the seller. Hell I've even received artwork from very well known and highly respected art dealers who do use double thick shipping tubes, or double thick box's and bubble wrap the **bleep** out of these pieces. But the gorilla like handling methods of any shipping service ,and I mean any one of the big three all most always guarantee your item will most likely be inflicted with some kind of miss handling damage. The fact that a good percent of what do arrive in good condition is one of the many great mysterious of the of the world we live in. Only the shipping gods from above know the reasons why
