Hi, all I hope this makes sense I'm so mad I'm shaking and can barely type. I purchased a microphone from a seller and when I received it, it didn't work. I went through the whole rigmarole with the seller, sending him files of what the mic sounded like and everything. He finally accepted the return after waiting several weeks and now a week after I shipped the package back he's sent me a message saying that it's NOT the microphone he sent me, that I switched it out and that he has "proof". He claims it has it's a different serial number than he sent—but I know that's not the case because I sent the mic he sent me—the only microphone of this make and model I've ever had.
What do I do?
He could have easily fabricated his proof and now I'm out $500 bucks and I don't even have a dead microphone to show for it... This is terrible.

unless he has some really concrete proof, if you open a case, you will win.99% of the time, Ebay sides with the buyer. He may just be blowing smoke. If there are any problems, and you paid with a cc, you can always do a chargeback.

Do you have tracking showing the date it shows delivered back to the seller?
Then not to worry.
The seller can protest all they want and claim you returned a different item, HOWEVER it is useless and won't prevent them from having to refund. They're REQUIRED to refund within 2 business days after tracking shows the seller received their item back.
If it's been more than 2 days since the package was returned contact eBay and ask them to force the seller to refund.
