I live in Hawaii and whenever I purchase an item I make sure its priority mail and not ground advantage. The reason is a difference of 6 days opposed to 21. I recently purchased an item where the seller said he'd ship the item priority mail but the shipping pattern looked more like ground advantage.
When I finally got my package, on day 26 since purchase, it said ground advantage. What actions can I take, If any?
Keep in mind that I paid $12 for shipping on a $150 item that could've fit into a medium flat rate but wasn't sent in such.
Thank you for your time.

You are owed $0.
You are eligible to return with reason Item Not As Described that seller has to pay return shipping on.
Ebay doesn't get involved when sellers use the wrong service.
I agree GA to Hawaii can be horrible and i send almost all my packages via priority. Except for packages less than 1 lb as those are supposed to go by air.

A judicious use of verbiage in your feedback? Just make sure you keep it calm and factual. A rant may get removed.
And maybe a firmly worded demand to the seller (which in all fairness may be ignored but it will get their attention). You paid for Priority and it was sent GA. You ARE owed a partial refund on the shipping. I know that I, as a seller, can report a buyer for making demands for something not in the listing. I wonder if it is possible for a buyer to also report a seller for not supplying was was promised in the listing (i.e. Priority versus GA).

I would have to agree with robbie31415 on this one. You are not owed any money because you did get your item but not as described. Keep your feedback professional and polite. At this point i would Not respond to the seller and just open up the return request. INAD Messaging the seller about wanting money back may complicate the return (if you want to return it). When processing the return, you could upload a picture of the actual shipping label (showing GA) of the item you received and a screenshot of the listing that describes it will be shipped Priority Mail. The seller will have the chance to either approve the return while paying for the receipt or offer a partial refund. The question would be is it worth sending back for a few dollars refund (if they choose partial refund)? If they do decide to proceed with the return, you still have the option of not sending it back as well. (regardless if they send you a label)
Whatever you decide, leave feedback after the dust settles and i would still be professional, polite but honest. IMHO

If this is only about being overcharged for shipping...just ask seller for a partial refund of your shipping.
You got the item.
Mistakes happen...everyone is not perfect. It's not a perfect 🌎.

I would never risk. Buyers arent allowed to ask for partial refunds.
The seller may report, and if you think eBay actually investigates or looks at context properly you are wrong.
Buyers only recourse based on policy when something isn't as described is to file a item not described return.
I'd expect if the buyer is smart then he'd offer a partial refund without you actually asking for one to settle the matter.

It's a partial refund on shipping.....
Combined orders...I give shipping refunds all the time without a buyer asking due to eBay not allowing International Combined Shipping of multiple items.

Seller listed with Priority, should have shipped Priority, but just to note ...................... a medium flat rate box cannot be shipped anywhere for $12

$12 for Priority Mail shipping to HI from continental US should be a red flag. Not much can be shipped to HI for that price with Priority Mail, except small flat rate box and envelopes. A medium flat rate box is I believe $15.19 now just for postage.
Some sellers (many?) refuse to take a loss on shipping. They will more often cancel the order for out of stock.
Buyer can relate the experience in feedback.
TRS can do partial refunds. I don't think sellers without TRS can do partials although that may have changed.

Hi @kalanto-0
Since you opened the account that you’re posting with today … I assume you ordered the item as a Guest. That means you cannot leave any feedback for the item OR take any other action using this account.
It seems unnecessarily foolish to return an item you obviously wanted … only because it was shipped incorrectly.
I’m very sorry this happened. I wouldn’t purchase from this seller again. Other than that, you really don’t have any actions to take that make much sense. ☹️

Downgraded shipping is a problem with some sellers. They lie.
In my experience, Ebay does not compensate the buyer for the seller dishonesty.
Perhaps they will some day decide on a metric which will hurt these liars and cheats, but I doubt it.
So long as they ship by the ship by date, they skate by.

I'm encountering the same thing at the moment, I paid a little less than $18.00 for priority mail shipping within the continental US, for an item about the size and weight of a zippo lighter. I noticed the estimated USPS delivery date seemed long for PM, when I checked, it went GA. My seller hasn't sold in a good while, and I'm guessing they got sticker shock when preparing to ship. While it's a minor annoyance, in my case it's a rare and high condition item, and when it all shakes down, it's in line with what the item would sell for outright. And that's IF you can find one, so it's all relative. I'm not going to confront the seller about shipping cost when it arrives, and he'll get good FB from me. Also, as others have stated, it'd be awfully tough to ship priority mail to Hawaii for $12.00 these days.

Thanks for answering. Yeah, that's the part that bugs me. $3-4 "loss"vs me waiting for 3 extra weeks. Seems the consensus is, that I got it and I can leave a comment and maybe get the $3 refunded

I use GA almost exclusively.
My packages have been averaging 3-5 days.
Hawaii to the east coast in 3 days. Impressive.
I'm a big fan of the usps.
