Ruined return

So I shipped the buyer the wrong item. They ordered 2 packs of energizer batteries and I sent them 2 packs of Duracell batteries. Buyer demanded return so I accepted. Buyer returned items opened and they look like they were ran over by a tank. (The shipping BOX is not damaged) must I refund this buyer in full?

Re: Ruined return

Sorry to say, yes.   Return fraud is a growing problem in all forms of sales. Add some to all your prices to cover that kind of loss.  You can report the buyer. If they get a lot of such reports ebay might remove them from the money back program.

Re: Ruined return

If that's an option for this transaction, you can go ahead and do it.  Of course, the buyer can appeal to eBay.

Re: Ruined return

You can only do that if you offer free returns....otherwise you have to give them every single penny back they paid.

NOPE, that is only available if you offer free returns. Since you have no returns on your listings you have to give them back a full refund.

Re: Ruined return

It's also available as an option for TRS who offer 30 day returns.  I haven't checked the OP's listings to see if that would apply.

As previously stated they have a No Returns policy on their listings.

As previously stated, it is not true that the option is "only available if you offer free returns."  This information might be useful to someone else.

So I can take 50% off?

Re: Ruined return

No you can't. As emerald stated in post 8 it is also available to TRS sellers who offer 30 day returns. Your no return listing disqualifies you.

Re: Ruined return

The OP  admitted to shipping an item not as described i.e. shipped wrong brand of battery.  IMO the OP is not entitled to any reduction in refund amount.

I agree....give them every single cent back that they paid.
