Had a seller from China send me the wrong item. Put in a return request but I am curious on how to go about getting the return shipping costs covered as per ebays policy? Seller has not responded on the issue.

Has the return been approved? If so you have to ask the seller to send the money via PayPal--needs to be trackable to China so will be very expensive, need to ship Priority express I think. The seller won't send the money and you will have to contact eBay and have them step in. You'll eventually get a refund without returning the item.

That is a very good questions as i have experienced this myself! For starters you can have eBay aware of this situation if you want & have them place notes on the case for you about the seller not responding. Then, it will tell you to return the package in a certain amount of time & if you dont it will close the return the sellers favor. This is when you will then call eBay & make an appeal & let them know what happened & that if an item is defective or not as described then by policy the seller does pay for return shipping & also the seller was not responding back. They will then see that & the notes left on the case & they will reverse the decision & it will be in your favor & you will have a refund & keep the item.

I outlined the correct way for OP to handle this. There is no need to call ebay & have notes made that the seller isn't responding--ebay can already see that themselves and those notes will not affect the return request or give the OP any type of advantage. There is no need to appeal anything, the OP won't lose the case for failing to return the item. She simply needs to ask ebay to "step in" when the time comes.

"needs to be trackable to China so will be very expensive, need to ship Priority express I think."
Nope. Priority Mail is sufficient.
