So, sold two cd's, buyer says not up to standard's, his--not Ebay's and wants to return them. We went back and forth a bit on emails through Ebay. Got his return request for BOTH CD's and i goofed up apparently by clicking the box for accept and not the one for send message to buyer. Now he wants a return label blah blah....called up Ebay and she agreed with me when i said "I'm screwed"...now what? Some bullet points..
Â
1. He emailed me during the auction and asked if there were pin holes in the cd...umm, ok, looked through 3 different lights here in my computer room..no pin holes...of course he says there are some
Â
2. He now says the other cd has marks around the spindle hole and this is not considered to be very good condition. That is not part of ebay's standards so not sure what he is talking about.
Â
3. Complained that the high price does not warrant the condition...umm, i didnt force you to bid high...you did, not only that, but you did not ask any questions about "spindle hole marks"....
Â
4. Both disks play perfect
Â
5. If he does return them there is sure no guarantee its the same ones i sold him...thus why i state on my lp and cd auctions that i do NOT accept returns
Â
6. I just can't see myself marking the wrong button on both return notices from him
Â
Help please as these cd's were not the usual $3-8 cd's.....
Â
thanks!

@sigs70 Are you unaware of the money back guarantee? There is no such thing as no returns on eBay and nothing the seller says in the listing can change that.

So they entered not as described as the reason? About all you can do if so is to issue the return label and refund when you receive them back. You can't just so no, unless it is a remorse reason.

Issue the return shipping label, and hope you get both back in the same condition (and the same cd's). This sounds like a SNAD case, you approved the return (you had no choice anyway).

This is 100% false. The OP can add this statement, however it has no impact on whether or not something can be returned. SNAD cases are rampant on eBay and is typically used by most buyers to either to try to get a partial from the seller or force the seller to pay return shipping when the buyer really has a buyers remorse return.

To me this situation reeks of a scam....he never asked about scuffs around the hole, its not part of ebays grading parameters...so why should he be able to return it??
Have you ever had any luck fighting a not as described return? They seldom work out for most of us, and can end in an unresolved by seller case.
Best of luck in whatever you decide to do.

To best honest with you, fighting SNAD claims are a lot of work. I'd save the fight for items that are expensive to ship back. They can be fought and won, but nothing here tells me how the buyer is misusing the eBay MBG. You are free to call and state you side of the story, but for a couple of CD's that will cost you less the $3 to have returned, I don't think it's worth the trouble IMO. I'll give you my rules below, make sure you pay attention to them if you decide to fight. Good Luck.
