Refund.

Hi! So I purchased a watch for my husbands birthday and I placed the order 10/20/20. I looked at it and realized it didn’t work but assumed it was a battery needing replacement. I hide it from my husband. I take it out an look at it again and email the seller saying it doesn’t work and I am going to go to a jewelry store who has someone who works on watches in house and get them to take a look at it and asked the seller if he knew of anything being wrong with it or if he even saw if it working at all.? He said he didn’t notice a problem with it.
I go to the jewelry store on 11/20/20. The battery is tested and it’s fine. The guy told me it was defective and to return it because I shouldn’t have to invest more money into something. And that I could spend more than it’s worth and that it wouldn’t be ready in time for my husbands birthday.
I request a return the seller accepts it on 11/20/20

I ship it the next day. He received it today. And then he opened a case against me! What does this mean? eBay said they sent me an email requesting further info but I don’t have an email asking for any information at all.
That being said it wasn’t a cheap watch. So I’m just confused what to do and I’m upset. Idk what to do. Any helpful info would be appreciated.

If they opened it up, that might void your MBG on Ebay.

Have a great day.

Refund.

Should not have done that.  Opening it is what the problem is. You needed to just file the return and no do anything to it.

If the jewelry store opened it up at all you voided your buyer protection.
