I would like to start out by saying I'm still pretty new to Ebay. I found a listing I liked and in the description it said "same day shipping before 1 Pm Est and Free 2 day business shipping". I checked the users rating it was 99.1% I thought this seemed pretty decent. So I bought the item and waited a few days. The item never shipped. I figured that with Covid-19 there may be a delay and I was fine with that. A few more days go buy and still nothing so I made an attempt to message the seller. I received an auto response saying they could no longer grantee 24-hour responses and they were behind on shipping. So I wait another week and still nothing. I contacted Ebay and they said I had to wait one day after the estimated date to request a refund. I waited past the estimated day and then requested a refund. Ebay is now saying I have to wait another week and potentially a few days more for them to make a review of the case before I can get a refund. This seems crazy to me. If there had been any communication the entire time I could understand giving the seller time to come up with a solution. He has still be actively selling as new reviews are continuing to pop up. When everything is said and done I will have been tied up for close to a month with this seller before I can my money back from Ebay. Is there any recourse to get my refund sooner? and will Ebay do anything to this person for never responding the entire time? Looking at his reviews this has been happened a lot lately. This makes me never want to use Ebay again and just stick with Amazon.

Hello @phaa-1689
Normally when you open an item not received case, the seller would have only 3 days to respond to the case but since the epidemic, shipping has slowed and eBay has given sellers more time for their items to arrive - hence the extra week. Now, that does not mean that the seller should not have shipped the item out to you - they should have and if they did not, that is absolutely wrong on their part and I had that happen to me a few weeks ago - I had to open a case against the seller and I did get my money back. Sellers are supposed to only sell items that they have available and in stock.
Your purchase is covered by the eBay money back guarantee.
I am sorry for your experience and it is sellers like this that give the rest of the good ones a bad rap. The vast majority of sellers here are awesome.

Did the seller give you a tracking Number? If yes, go on the USPS tracking page. See if the item has been shipped and is in transit.
I recently had a media mail item end up in Jersey City and it's been "in transit" since mid-April. I talked to USPS people and they say since North JErsey is so devastated by the virus, they are concentrating on priority and first class. She said the MM is probably still sitting in the scanned container
Not sure why ebay said you had to wait if it's after the estimated date of delivery if there is no tracking. I had tracking but no movement so the buyer and I agreed to refund on April 30th.
You do have 30 days after estimated date of delivery to file a INR(item not received) case. Have you filed INR case yet?
