I sold an item to a buyer in Canada.
Sent the item via Priority Mail to
Global Shipping International.
Global then charge me $670.00.
I do not know why a shipping company charges
for a packaged bought in Canada.
Why can't a seller just used the USPS?

The global shipping program does NOT charge you.
Buyer pays YOU for item price and shipping to the Kentucky sorting center.
The buyer pays the GSP for international shipping and any customs fees that are due.
You pay fees based only on what the buyer pays YOU.
You can ship directly to another country without using the GSP if you wish. That is the seller's choice.
However, keep in mind that with the GSP once the item reaches Kentucky you are no longer responsible for the item if it is late/lost, or damaged in shipping.
The GSP refunds buyers for late/ lost, or damaged items, not the seller.
Many packages are arriving late right now, especially international ones. If the package is just ONE day late if you ship directly to another country then the buyer can file an item not received refund request and eBay will force you to refund the buyer.
The item could then arrive a few days/ weeks later and all you can do is send the buyer a paypal invoice and HOPE that they are honest and repay you. There is no way to force a buyer to repay for the refund.
