Just got this message from ebay telling me that they are excited to announce the expansion of eBay International Shipping to Puerto Rico! This proves that ebay has no idea what they are doing! Puerto Rico is a United States Territory and as such the USPS treats it as just another state in America. There IS NO SURCHARGE to Puerto Rico nor is it International shipping. GOOD GRIEF!!!

Alot of sellers don’t have US Protectorates included in their rate table and it defaults to ebays international shipping which costs ALOT more (highway robbery actually). This has probably cost them sales from Puerto Rico. In Puerto Rico we use the same old USPS just like they do in all the states.

Have you noticed a problem lately with expected delivery dates shown to buyers in Puerto Rico? I ship first class mail envelopes to Puerto Rico. About 20% of my business. Delivery time usually 7-10 days. Recently Ebay has been showing an estimated delivery date of over 30 days. Needless to say business has dried up. Called Ebay and they said they rely on information from USPS for delivery times. I know other sellers are having the same issue. The customers are not buying from me which is bad but also Ebay is losing a tremendous amount of money. These customers are not buying from other Ebay sellers because the issue is the same they are buying on other site or at retail. Ebay customer service did not seem to grasp the seriousness of this for it's sellers or for themselves. Anyone have any ideas how to get some movement on this? John
