Proper procedure for returning an item that was dropshipped from Amazon?

I just ordered a pair of shoes here on eBay, but they actually arrived as a "gift" from Amazon. I have read about Amazon dropshipping before and understand it's not against eBay policy, so no issue there. However, I would like to know the proper way to handle a return without screwing myself? Am I supposed to ship it back to the Amazon seller? Because I obviously don't even know what their return policy is and it just sounds like a problem waiting to happen. I feel like shipping it to the eBay seller directly would be more correct, but the seller appears to actually be in Isreal, even though the item shipped from the US, so I'm not sure that will work either.

So, any rules to go by here? I have started the return request, but haven't heard from the seller yet. The listing had a standard 30 day return policy, btw.

Just wait for the seller to respond or the point in your case where you can escalate it.

Don't worry about the Amazon seller, that's YOUR sellers problem.

What was your reason for the return?  Are you waiting for the seller to 'accept' the return?

I have mine automatically set to accept all 'remorse' (item doesn't fit, changed mind, etc) returns, and I have to 'accept' all not as described returns.  If the seller has to accept the return, once they do, the system will give you the option to print a label or will show you the address of where to return the item.

Didn't fit, so should be a simply return with no case needed, as far as that part is concerned.

I guess I'll just wait and see where the seller wants me to send the item. Sounds like regardless of drop shipment, I should be fine with delivery confirmation to whatever address the seller gives me?

Some sellers have it set in the system that they have an opportunity to review/accept ALL returns, I suppose that could be the case for your seller.  Mine are just set so they auto accept, so my buyer will see where to ship it to asap.

And yes, delivery confirmation to whatever address the seller provides for the return is all you need.
