Problem with International Shipping ??

In the past month I have had a dozen or more international orders that did not go to the East coast or the west coast to fly over seas, instead they have been scanned buy the postal system and then gone to certain states in the US that seem to have a code that matches the International postage code for a foreign country . The last scan is from the state that the package went to and they are never scanned again so for I have had three International customers that say they have not received the package and I have had to refund their payments.  I believe that during the month of December Pitney Bowes has had a problem with printing International postage causing these packages to go to the wrong places and end up lost or in dead mail bins. Any one else having problems.

Yes, my 1st class international pkgs are going to domestic addresses with the same zip codes. haven't figured out what to do yet. probably have to make a 1 hr call to USPS only to speak with someone who knows less than me about it.

Re: Problem with International Shipping ??

In October I shipped a package that was supposed to go to Portugal. Using the customs form tracking number,  I tracked the package from my post office to Chicago and then the package went to Tokyo and then to Singapore and now is lost in space. I shipped two packages to France ove xmas break and they to ended up in Chicago and then disappeared.  I personally think something is wrong in Chicago!!

I went to the usps website and filled out the " find my missing mail " form online... which I might add is a pain for the package going to Portugal and after several weeks I recieved a notice that they were unable to locate my package!  Even though I felt it was a waste of my time, I did the same for the two lost packages to France. My problem is that I ship 1st class international becuase I'm selling items that average around $35.00 and this costs my customers around $15.00. If I asked them to go with Priority Mail Interntional the costs are too high and I would lose a sale.

Just today I've been getting error messages from Ebay when I try to print an international shipping label. Anyone else have this problem. Fortunatley I have a stamp.com account so I can print my labels there.

Re: Problem with International Shipping ??

huge issue and ebay and paypal are doing nothing ther than collecting their cut.

i've had a print ship to japan which took 2 months.  after 7 weeks the buyer opened a case (as he should) which causes paypal to freeze the funds...meaning i've spent $56 on shipping and insurance, $300 for the print and ebay/paypal fees are not credited til the case is closed - so i'm stuck financing the entire screw up.

now have same issue with aprint shipped jan. 10 - usps priority international going to spain.  insured.  lost in madrid for last 14 days.  case opened and another $500 frozen in my accound.

SOMETHING IS DEFINITELY WRONG AND THERE SEEMS TO BE NO END IN SIGHT!

btw, prior to the last 2 months, international shipping NEVER had these issues.

How are eBay and PayPal supposed to fix USPS routing problems?

Re: Problem with International Shipping ??

It seems to have been fixed , but the problem as I see it was Pitney Bowes inc.  and it had something to do with US mail reading the code and it then takes it to a US zip code because it matches the International code also.  For 2-4 weeks it went on and then somehow it was straightened out.
