Potential deliberate USPS package delivery slowdowns.

During the past week or so, I have read a number of articles concerning the plans of the new Post Master General to deliberately slow down mail and package delivery...except for Amazon shipments.  The reasons being given for this

interruption of service are numerous and I have my own suspicions for the cause of this action, however, should intentional delays turn out to be the new norm, my question is this:  will eBay give consideration and not ding sellers metrics and reviews?  Is eBay even aware of this potential huge change?  I would love to see eBay address this matter.

Re: Potential deliberate USPS package delivery slowdowns.

I seriously doubt any of that is true.  If anything....the new unqualified Post Master General would slow down Amazon packages on purpose.  Trump hates Bezos/Amazon because Bezos owns the Washington Post...a newspaper that calls out Trumps **bleep**  And Trump rips the P.O. for not charging Amazon more and losing money on every Amazon package they deliver.  Which isn't true.  If anything....the P.O. could be in some trouble because they need a billion dollar loan this September.  But like everything else....the government will wait til the last minute to realize the problem and then try and solve it months later.

Re: Potential deliberate USPS package delivery slowdowns.

I haven't heard about an intentional slowdown but there have long been efforts to privatize our post office. I don't think they would be so obvious as to order a slow down. But they might make rules that purposely do slow the mail down.

A good example of this is that the Post Office is ordered to put aside money for the pensions of workers who are not even born yet! This was done to 'prove' that the post office couldn't make money and it's gone a long way to busting their budget.

For those who want the post office to be privatized, you'll probably get that wish soon enough and costs from ALL the shippers will skyrocket. Only the biggest sellers will survive it. We are anticipating this and hope to sell off the majority of our stock in the next year (if ebay lets us, lol).

Re: Potential deliberate USPS package delivery slowdowns.

Sounds like a plan.    Your company is on the ropes.    Losing Billions of dollars of business to UPS & Fedex.    You've lost countless customers and have no way to recover them.

Slow down your service and irritate the few customers you have left.

What a great plan!

Re: Potential deliberate USPS package delivery slowdowns.

I dont what the story is but recently i have had 4 items that were sent first class still not make their destinations.  I put traces on all of them and all cases were researched and found but are still not moving. Items were sent on july 5th. This is the first time ive seen a pattern so there maybe some truth to the intentional slow downs.

Re: Potential deliberate USPS package delivery slowdowns.

They are not intentional slow downs.  The new Post office general has issued a mandate of no overtime.  In this memo he states that there should be expected delays since packages will sit until they are able to get to them.   There is no note about Amazon being an exception in any article I have read.  It is a first come first serve/ with express then priority taking priority.

Google "USPS Overtime Memo"  The Washington Post has a good article.

Re: Potential deliberate USPS package delivery slowdowns.

100% Fact......The USPS is playing Games to get Congress to Approve More Money for Them........in Cincinnati Ohio, Packages are Running 2-10 Days Late......Checking The Tracking Numbers......The Packages are just Sitting at One Place for Long Periods of Time.

If it ain't the Managed Payment System getting us........it's the USPS getting us

Re: Potential deliberate USPS package delivery slowdowns.

Where I live......Amazon just quit using USPS for delivery......Now they are doing it themselves in unmarked white vans.....Sub-Contractors ?

and FYI.......Ebay packages also get a discount from USPS......You get about a 10% Discount by printing Ebay Shipping Labels

So Quit Drinking the Far Right Kool Aid

Re: Potential deliberate USPS package delivery slowdowns.

If the post office is loosing so much money on the Amazon packages why is Amazon shifting more and more of their package deliveries in house? Amazon sure isn’t doing it because it is more expensive than the post office. Most of the post offices costs are fixed. The post man or lady still has to come by your every day except Sunday regardless of how much mail has to be delivered. The lights at the post office still has to be turned on and gas for the delivery vehicles are still needed. It costs the post office very little to delivery the extra packages from Amazon, FedEx Smart Post, UPS Sure Post, and etc.

With technological advancements a FedEx can determine if it is cheaper to deliver a Smart Post package them selves or drop it off at the local post office to deliver it the last mile. Fedex had technology to know if one of there drivers Will be in the area of a package delivery for that day if not they will hand package over post office along with a bunch of others.

Re: Potential deliberate USPS package delivery slowdowns.

I contacted ebay and was told they are very aware of this and confirmed that this was nationwide and not just in my area but offered zero help.

I am on the ropes. I have shipped in excess of 16,000 packages in the last eight years with almost zero hiccups. Now in the last two months almost every package has an issue.

I could not care less about conspiracy theories or Trump or Biden. All I care about is when this is going to stop. I'm told it's because of the virus and Christmas.

I haven't had a upset customer message regarding delivery ever now I get several a week . Customers could not care less about what you tell them is the problem. All they care about is "WHERE IS MY PACKAGE?"

I am considering shutting down for awhile rather than watch my customer base abandon me for poor service.

The only reply I have for a disappointed customer is to make sure they know that I shipped their package as soon as it was purchased.

Thanks and HELP!!!!!!!

Managed Payment System is a Cluster "Bleep".......I'm surprised Ebay hasn't reversed course ......Banks are going to want to be paid for working for Ebay .......Free isn't Free.....Someone Pays
