If a buyer opts for local pick up, picks up the order but does not provide the 6 digit code from their confirmation email, how do you close it out?
I had the buyer sign the order on pick up but did not realize I would have to get the 6 digit code from them at the time.
In the past I had one order picked up and there was not mention of a 6 digit code, so am I stuck now?

as i understand it, the code is the same as status: Delivered (by carrier) if the buyer questions receiving the item...
that being said, i think if you just mark it as "Shipped", and there is no disagreement forthcoming from the buyer, you should be OK

Often when you fail to follow Ebay procedures, there is no method to remedy it through Ebay action. This may be one of those situations.
Contact the buyer and ask them to provide the number.
Sellers often cause themselves harm because they failed to read the appropriate help information before they act.

There is no way to mark it shipped. The only option is to provide the 6 digit code. Without it I do not think I can close the order. Yes, I did not know this before I agreed to pick up since it was not so in the past.
Already contacted the buyer and asked for the code but if they do not respond I may be cooked here.

how did they pay you....through the website/listing?
Where is the item listing now?
in "Awaiting Shipping?"
"Awaiting Payment?"
The Mark as Shipped is not in the drop down box by the listing?
Just guessing out loud....

FYI: It would seem even if the buyer later changes their mind and later requests you to ship the item, there is no way to do it once local pick up is chosen.

The buyer has paid through the website. The listing order now says, "Arrange pickup". The only action option I can take is "Confirm pick up" When I hit that button, the sites asks me to provide the 6 digit code located in the buyer's confirmation email.
I can see this is my fault in that when it was picked up I did not know to ask for the 6 digit code. I did have the buyer sign the invoice to acknowledge pick up, and there is an email trail between us for the pick up arrangement, but I guess that will not be enough.
Not sure when eBay changed this since in the past I did not have to enter any 6 digit code. But I can say this is the last time I will offer local pick up unless the buyer has the code with them.

looks like all you can do is solicit the buyer via messaging for the code...
