Any way to tell if order was fulfilled by Amazon or if the seller is just abusing their Amazon prime account to get free shipping??

I don't get why you are bothered so much if it's legit FBA amazon seller. (Probably not)
You didn't get what you ordered.. That means you open an Item Not as Described return on eBay, and get your money back.
That should be main focus?
You said you got a trial size for what you paid for a full size...

Hahaha I knew someone was going to ask me this. The answer is quite frankly because it bugs me. People who lie and cheat bug me. I’m sure there are things that bug you too.
I probably won’t do anything about it except leave negative feedback, but I don’t want to accuse without being sure even in the feedback.
If it’s legit then I’m totally fine with it.

I think it would be more effective to file an "item not as described" case with eBay. Sounds as though Amazon misfilled the order, and that would be a wake-up call for the seller in and of itself.

oh, yes I will do that if I can’t get the seller to just give me a partial refund. Don’t need all money back b/c I can use the item. We’ll see if they respond.

It's hard to know exactly unless it has the gift receipt in it. The gift receipt is the easy tell, but since it didn't have one, there are other ways, or they could really be legit using Amazon FBA.
Hurting them is more filing the INAD case and getting a return. It hurts their service metrics. So the more they get the more they hurt.
I have no problem with you asking about it, but my primary focus would be on getting my money back since I didn't get what I ordered.

Was there any information in the box about how to return the item?
