Opened my first return request ever....

I've actually never had to return a purchase in my 20 years dealing with eBay. Purchased a doll last week, with stand. Doll had no packing material, just placed inside an envelope. Came with a plastic doll stand that somehow wasn't broken in shipping.

Issue was the doll's head was broken and glued back on. There is hair stuck to the neck from the bad glue job. I went back to look at the original listing and noticed all the photos were taken from above, which masked the neckline. Only five photos that were also fuzzy and slightly unfocused, which I thought was just due to they are obviously a new seller. Less than 20 FB scores so far. However they are a doll seller from other listings so they should know better.

I opened the return and seller has accepted return, although the listing said no returns. Haven't heard from seller and no label has been sent yet. It's only been a few days.

Any advice?

Thank you....

If it has been at least three days since you opened the case, go back into it and let EBay know that the seller hasn’t resolved the problem.  EBay will take over and see that you are refunded, and most likely tell you that you don’t have to return the item.

Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.

The seller has 2 business days (to the end of the 3 business days) ... and then, oops:

We have no bahamas today.

Interesting

Fuzzy photos & taken from an angle that avoids detection of item damage.

Perhaps no mention of damage in the description ?

No mention of damage or I would have passed. Seller sells dolls so I'm more than surprised at this. I tried to think how this could have been missed but simply no way. Collectible dolls do not have hair glued to the neckline under any circumstances....

Thank you, they have until tomorrow I believe. Just wanted to make sure they don't try to pull anything on me. Seems to be a deceptive seller, which is really a shame. This isn't even an expensive item, less than $20 including shipping. Just incredibly sad how people are acting these days....

Update: Hadn't heard back from seller on anything so I was about to ask eBay to step in when the seller sent the return label. It was 6 minutes past the day it was due. They apparently waited to the last moment, because it's too bizarre to have suddenly remembered six minutes past the deadline.

I returned the doll the same day I received the label. I have the receipt of shipping showing the date. Now I'm waiting for my entire refund. I will hold eBay to their money back guarantee and see how this turns out.

No communication from the seller. On this forum everyone is always pushing to contact the seller and try to work things out. This seller was not interested in working anything out. They seem intent on being difficult. They are new, only joined in February of 2020. What a miserable seller this was.....

Wondering ... did you get that screenshot shown earlier right when the deadline ended, or didn't see it because the seller had already moved the green bubble by sending a return label?

Oh that wasn't my screenshot, it was someone else responding to me that sent their own screenshot. Mine was on the first bubble for return started. The seller accepted my return the following day after it was started but never responded to my messages with photos nor contacted me in any way. It stayed that way until the seller finally submitted the return label on the deadline day. I logged on with the intention to ask eBay to step in when the seller suddenly submitted the label.

Now I'm on the second bubble with item shipped and I received confirmation from eBay that my item is on it's way back to the seller.
