We have an item that keeps being purchased in the last 4 or 5 probably 15 or more. By different people that are sending it to different people that keep leaving notes that say (copied from our order page)Buyer's note: Hello! This is a gift. Don’t include any price tags for this order, please. Thank you! And don't confirm the shipment without a tracking number ASAP. Best regards! or most of them have said (also copied from our page)Buyer's note: Please send it as soon as possible. Do not include any promotional materials, price, purchase receipt or invoice inside or outside the package. Just send the track number to my email. Thank you very much for your cooperation! We have had so many of these I feel something is up maybe they are reselling. Don't know just doesn't feel right!
Have checked a couple of the buyers out and they are brand new. We have started to send them a note thank you for the business check your sales ticket for the tracking info. We do not have the time to send them the tracking information with all the time we spend trying to keep other customers happy who are not receiving their packages due to USPS issues.
Anyone out there with the the notes on orders.

Absolutely they are reselling. You might want to start charging more. Also include a packing slip as usual in each package so that you can capture their buyer for any future sales. Your buyer isnt going to know what HIS buyer receives in your package. Besides - your return address is on your shipping label anyway.

It sounds like your item is being sold elsewhere at a higher price and being drop shipped.
Check the river and see if you can find it there. If that's the case, raise your price if want to stop them from doing this.

Yep, you're a drop shipper and didn't even know it.
Do you honestly think anyone would want a swimming pool accessory part for a gift? And who would know the specific size or type that would fit their pool? If they're selling the item for more, that money can be yours.

It does sound like you are being a drop shipper. However, I would just do as they asked. If you are happy with the price you are selling the item for, what difference does it make if your customer is reselling it? If it bothers you to be a drop shipper, raise your price. I have been used as a drop shipper before and other boutiques buy in bulk from me fairly often. I am just happy for the sale/sales.

Yeah, nearly two decades ago, I bought a large dog bed from a seller on e-Bay and was surprised when the shipment actually arrived FROM COSTCO. The seller was using their COSTCO account to purchase items, using COSTCO'S stock photos to list them and re-selling at a considerable profit. It made it easy for the seller. They didn't have to package it, ship it, or even stock it themselves. All they had to do was pocket the money from the e-Bay buyer and have COSTCO ship it directly to them.
This was back in the day when e-Bay buyers could communicate with one another and there were several of us who caught on and felt "taken" once we received the shipment and realized where the product was coming from. Then of course we checked on the COSTCO website ourselves and realized we had been taken. Though I do realize it was our choice to make the purchase, it was still an unwelcome eye-opener.
I don't know if this practice was/is legal but the seller must have received enough negative feedback for it because it wasn't long after that, they disappeared. But yeah, the return address can be "telling". 🙂
Also, as somebody suggested, I think you as the seller, should go ahead and put a receipt/invoice inside the shipment so the recipient can get a "heads up" on what's going on. The original buyer won't know what's in the box unless they hear about it from the recipient. And I wouldn't hesitate to state in my listing that "gift receipts" for this item are not available but that each shipment will contain an invoice with price. That might deter resales. Just my thoughts. 🙂
