Are you weighing them in the shipping package?
I find it hard to believe that ANY 'jacket' would only weigh 6 ounces. Sounds like you are either weighing 'just the item' or your scale is WAY off.
By the way- turn OFF the caps!!

So the USPS post office can weigh and check length and such for free...even without buying anything.
My suggestion is taking an item(s) to confirm the postage...
Sometimes, a spot check here and there might help for weight and such...especially length and height of the package or box...which I see clerks all the time using a taping ruler for measurements.
It's not always about weight...Just a thought.

Most of the paperback books which I ship out weigh more than 8 ounces.
Are you sure that that jacket weighed only SIX ounces?!?

My scale is not off and I do weigh in the package. The item was a baby silk jacket with no lining so it did weigh 6 oz.I sell a lot of small items .I am not an amateur.I have been doing this for more than 20 years. Can you explain to me the reason for my other scenario. They stated the service label did not match service used which I am pretty sure that is impossible.

I have done that.My biggest issue right now is the service on the label did not match service used. Not even sure what that means.

It was a silk jacket with no lining,so hardly any weight and I use poly bags.I assure you it did not weigh 14 oz.

If you are printing labels for the amounts of shipping that you're charging, you're underpaying.
For example, there's no ground advantage label you can get for $3.85, the price I'm seeing for this item. The listing shows "economy shipping." Are you using a media mail label? The Columbia jacket doesn't qualify for media mail and you'll get charged for underpayment.
This 12-18 mo. Columbia jacket would definitely weigh more than 6 oz. even if you used a poly mailer.
From what I see, few (if any) of your listings charge enough to cover ground advantage shipping for those items.
In any cases, have you used priority packaging to ship your items but didn't purchase priority labels? If so, that would account for the "SERVICE ON LABEL DID NOT MATCH SERVICE USED."

I use Ebay shipping and the shipping on the items is not shipping charged.I put in exact weight and dimensions and use label printed directly from Ebay. Most of the time I lose on shipping. Also i have never used priority packaging for my packages.I use poly mailers and my own boxes so the service not matching should never happen. The jacket was a Spring jacket and I assure you it was only 6 oz.I have checked my scale with other household items and it is not off.I know people think I do noy what I AM TALKING ABOUT BUT I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR YEARS

You may have checked them but you did NOT input them correctly- as these 2 show:
John Deere Baby Jacket 3M shows
$3.85 shipping to me in Nevada (from you in PA) and nothing ships for that.
Then you have

USPS runs each package through the Automated Package Verification System ( APV) . This system verifies your packages for accuracy in weight, dimension, service type, package type, origin zip
and destination zip.
There are several sorting centers that are notorious for their aging system and out of focus cameras to make errors. Since 2018, I have disputed 491 USPS additional charges due to weight discrepancies, package size, being charged for priority when it was ground advantage & no priority packaging was used( I take a pic. of every package and save them for a year). I have won all 491 cases. (This may seem like a lot of cases, I sell on 4 other platforms besides my 2 eBay stores. I ship 100- 150 packages per day. So, roughly 29K packages per yr ( with 6 wks off) x 8 yrs = 232K packages. So the 491 disputes is only a very small percentage (.002).
Mistakes do happen! I urge you to appeal this additional charge! Where you dispute it depends on where you purchased the label. (I use pirate ship. They list every dispute under reports and make it very convenient to fill out the dispute). Once you file, a USPS employee will review the logs and photos of your package traveling through their system and make a decision. This takes 2- 3 weeks.
