Mailing-Delivery Problem

Mailed package to Panama City, Florida on 2/3/2022 - it was scanned in 2/6/2022 in Atlanta Peachtree GA  Distribution center - and no further info was listed in the tracking  - it seems the package has dropped off the face of the earth!! I filed a missing package complaint with the post office - Haven't heard anything back - I refunded the buyer- cause it's not their fault the post office lost the package. How do I prevent this from happening again? Do I need to insure every thing? Has anyone else had a problem with packages going thru Atlanta-Peachtree GA?

Re: Mailing-Delivery Problem

Interesting; I have a package going to GA but it went to a FL DC and has been 'stuck' for about a week.

Anyway, it's just dumb luck and usually 99.99% of packages get where they need to go (that's been my experience using USPS for 11 years with 50k packages)

The Mail Recovery Center (MRC) in Atlanta is the U.S. Postal Service®’s official “lost and found” department. Formerly the “Dead Letter Office,” the MRC has had several consolidations that have centralized the operation from four centers into one. https://about.usps.com/postal-bulletin/2012/pb22351/html/info_005.htm

Just a follow up; package going to GA (from West Coast) stuck in FL for 1 week, out for delivery today. 99.9999% no issues with USPS.
