Lost Parcel in transit

I bought a parcel for £38.99 including postage and the parcel gets lost in transit. The parcel has £20 plus £3.99 insurance. I'm confused right now because the sender wants me to claim for a parcel that's been confirmed to be lost by the courier and the sender has been compensated the insurance that was put on the parcel. My questions are that do I have a right to claim anything from the courior and how much should I get the compensated money or the amount that I paid for the item when I was buying the item? Because I am really failing to understand.

Re: Lost Parcel in transit

The seller is responsible for issuing you the refund for the full amount you paid.

Any insurance claims are between the seller and the carrier.  Whether it is granted or denied has no bearing on your owed refund.

I hope that answers your question.  I had a bit of trouble following your post.

Often times the shipper is going to require a statement from the addressee that they did not receive the item such that the seller can file a claim on the insirance.  So don't forget to work with the seller in that regard.

Open an Item Not Received case. You will have to wait to open it the day after the last estimated delivery date, which is shown on your Order Details page.
