Item not received case lost

I was recently told by eBay that as long as the tracking says the item is delivered I do not have to worry about losing any cases as it will automatically be closed in my (sellers) favour.

Hmmm, not so!

I just lost another case where the tracking says delivered, customer disagrees. eBay say it could be delivered anywhere so no proof of delivery and the buyer gets their money back?

I don't understand because the last 5 times this has happened and the case is closed in our favour?

I tried to appeal the most reccent one but they keep telling me the tracking just says delivered so its not proof?

Can anyone offer any help with this?

It is for around £70 but I need to know for the future, I don't like to gamble my money like this just living in hope eBay will decide in my favour each time. It would be nice to know how to send an item and know I will keep the payment for it.

The item was sent to the address customer supplied via eBay, tracked myhermes sent to click and collect address. Tracking says delivered. What more can I do?

This is exactly the same as about 10 prevoius cases all the same, but this is the 2nd or 3rd time I recall losing.

Any help is much appreciated.

Re: Item not received case lost

As you are in the UK & using a courier the answers you receive here on the US Board may not apply to your situation.

It may pay to ask on the UK boards  eBay.co.uk  where others are more familiar with Hermes tracking/delivery

Re: Item not received case lost

If the item is rather expensive, HERE’S HOW A POSSIBLE SELLER SCAM CAN WORK ON EBAY. It happened to me twice before within 2 weeks of each other before I figured it out, be careful! A newer “Seller” ( little to lose by feedback) individually lists semi-valuable items, like 3 rolls of Silver Quarters for a semi low price like $135 each. Good take for him at $400 total. You buy and pay. He sends item not using Ebay to produce the label, but uses his own which our shipping address can not be verified. He ships trackable junk mail to another address in your zip code. Receiver of the mail throws the junk mail away. Tracking says something like “DELIVERED IN/AT MAILBOX  Apr-03-17, 17:50 PM, Your Town, VA 30162”. Tracking says DELIVERED and everybody (Ebay) ASSUMES to your mailbox. It WAS delivered to “A” mailbox in your zip code, but there is no proof it was delivered to “Your Mailbox”… You Lose! I have photos of 2 packages where I had to go to a lot of trouble to get from the postmaster photo of the packages on the line showing my USPS tracking # with a different address in my zip code. EBAY DID COVER IT AFTER I GOT THE EVIDENCE, but it took a lot of time, effort, and a drive to the post office to get my money back. START BY ASKING EBAY IF THE SELLER USED AN EBAY PRODUCED LABEL, IF NOT THEN......

Re: Item not received case lost

Send everything via US Mail "Signature required". Post office must check I.D. of signature. That's proof. Add the vew dollars signature service cost to you shipping in the offer.

Re: Item not received case lost

Your response is not applicable. Old thread -- and the seller is in the UK.

Re: Item not received case lost

I think we should start a class action lawsuit against Ebay  for always siding with the buyer even if the tracking shows delivered.Anyone else that has been screwed over interested?
