Issues with USPS

Have any of you had an issue with the USPS not scanning packages that have been picked up? I had three packages picked up yesterday morning by my mailman but I tracked them this morning and it only shows the labels have been created and nothing has been scanned into the USPS system yet. I'm hoping that something will show up later today and maybe the system is not showing it up to date. Frustrating, as I always make sure that the packages go out either on the day of the purchase or the very next morning. 😞

We love our USPS personnel here. Never have any problems. So my conclusion is it is the people who run the individual office that makes the difference. Andrew

When my carrier picks up a package the acceptance scan shows on line at USPS within minutes.  Same with delivery scans.

When I take them in to a small office (handheld scanners only) the acceptance shows a short time after the scanner is cradled to transmit.

When I go to a larger office wit a point of service (POS) terminal to have packages accepted the scams show up after closeout.

It is not normal for scans to take a "day, or two" to how up online. Methinks your mail person is acting like an eBay CSR, with a response that puts the question to rest. Not saying that your mail person is not doing their job.

My carrier had a bad scanner a while back. No acceptance/delivery scans were showing up at all.

My mail lady and I were talking today.  She said her Post Master informed her that she was only to scan the first 5 packages she picks up from me.  Luckily we have a good relationship.  She scans all of my packages regardless.  Plus she has trained her subs to do the same thing for my packages as she understands e bay.

That is stupidity at its best.  After "setup" of the scanner, it takes less than 2 seconds per package to make the scans.  scan, beep, scan, beep, scan, beep. I suppose with 50 packages it could make sense.

There is always the use of a scan sheet. I have talked to my carriers, and offices where I drop off about my reason for not using a scan sheet.

3 different accounts. 2 different days shipping as shipping labels are done as soon as possible, when practical. They have no issue with not using the sheet, as it would be more involved with the possibility of up to six scan sheets.

I can almost guarantee the sub will continue to miss your scans. Be on guard. Subs do not get the importance of the scans and generally never will until disciplined or removed. I am a retired PM and know from experience.

So the answer is sit in your truck somewhere in the neighborhood close to where you are going to deliver packages and scan/beep. scan/beep a whole pile of packages!  That way when you misdeliver one the GPS tracking info will show a wrong address and the buyer gets nothing!  Robot Frustrated

oops!

Too bad eBay doesn't have a scan sheet after I print labels. USPS says I'm supposed to have a scan sheet. I'm not printing from USPS website so no scan sheet.
