Is the return request not working?

I have opened a return request on 08/08/2017 for an item that arrived damaged, but when I view the return details the photos I attached do not show. Also when I go to the resolution center it does not show up in the resolution center as a case is open. Can somebody explain this to me? As of 08/12/2017 The seller has not replyed so I'm thinking of asking ebay to help out.

That's because an active return request will never appear in the eBay Resolution center, despite everything you've read.

But you can go back to the return Details page and click Ask eBay to step in right now, Saturday, Aug 12. And you will get a decision in less than a few hours.

Thanks. I'm going to send a message to the seller one last time before I ask ebay to step in. But why are the photos not showing in the return details?
