My buyer paid for the item and shipping (calculated) which was printed via eBay.
In the payments it shows the total amount they paid (item + shipping) subtraction for fees in this case 13% of the total amount.
And then my net order proceeds. Is the net order proceeds already less shipping or am I going to get that taken out as well?
Everytime I click on a help link on the website it takes me to the app which has about zero information so I have no clue.

You are charged the selling fee on both the item's price and it's shipping. Don't forget the sales tax. You get the amount the buyer paid for shipping. If you purchased shipping through eBay, your charged for that but what the buyer paid covers that. Assuming you charged the correct amount.
So in round numbers you end up with the items sale price less about 13%.

I just asked this very question via chat and was told what the net shows is what will get deposited....so somehow I made an extra 14 bucks...sold something for 210 plus buyer paid shipping. I asked twice and was answered the same, what you see is what you get.
This makes absolute no sense.
I bought a Fed ex shipping label and come to find out on my own hunting (thank you search engine) I found that the 40 and change for shipping will be billed to me after the fact, at some point. Sooo for fedex, since I believe it's billed, will NOT be a part of the final fees as I was reassured twice it was.
Now this is for fed ex specifically. USPS you can choose to have it come out the pending proceeds as long as you choose it at the bottom of the purchasing label screen. I believe USPS is prepaid vs. fedex that I believe is billed after delivery...hell, I'm still learning.)
Of course finding this out after the fact, there may be a possibility of selecting "pending proceeds" or whatever to cover say Fed ex or UPS.
so take that for what it's worth, I know now and knowing is half the battle, however eBay kinda sucks when you go to ask them legit questions. Especially when you are forced into a managed payment program with no other recourse.

So that's the situation I'm in.
The item was 160. Shipping was 12.50 so the buyer gave 172.50 eBay just paid me 150.00. So do they really take 22.50 final value fee? Like holy moly, I'm not selling here again if that's the case, since that will mean I'll clear 138 for the 172 the buyer paid if I get billed for shipping too.
I did buy the label through ebay. The crazy part is how vague everything is now.

The buyer paid you $172.50, out of which YOU had to pay shipping. It seems like you believe the shipping was part of the final value fee.
And you did not mention whether or not there was sales tax.

Thanks for the CAPITALS.
Ebay, especially the app is a joke. I have no idea what charges are. I got 172 into my ebay account and I got 150 into my bank account. I bought the label through ebay and have no record of any charges for that so I assumed that it was taken out in the fees (the point of my question here).
Had I known ebay was going to take 22 dollars on a 160 dollar item not including shipping I never would have sold here. Especially because eBay does almost nothing to protect the seller from fraud.

Fees removed never include cost of actual shipping, at first. When you print a label through ebay, at the bottom of the label page you can change how you pay for the label. It is usually 'pre checked' with Paypal, but you can change that to 'pending funds'. The $ would then come out of those pending funds. (if you are using paypal, paypal is either deducting from your balance or if you have $0, then taking from bank or charging credit card, what ever you have set up as 'back up').
Example, you sell an item $200. You have $175 pending. You pay $15 shipping out of 'pending funds'. Pending funds will then show $160. 2 days later $160 is deposited and you used the customers $ to pay for that shipping label.

It's always a good idea to check fees before you list. Once you know that you can decide if you want to list the item and if so, you can figure out the price you want to charge based on all costs.
Your listing states UPS so if that's how you shipped, that will be billed later. Final value fees are generally about 12.35% on the total paid so $22 fvf is about right.

Hey, you must have gotten the $15 shipping that was left OFF of my sale! I sold an item for $15, with shipping of $15.??, but only the first $15 was sent to me, even though I paid $11.?? for the shipping label. I've been several places, trying to find the answer to why I didn't receive the amount the buyer paid for shipping. Can't call them anymore because the phone message says to use the website, but THE ANSWER ISN'T ON THE WEBSITE. I reduced my item to sell it and then LOST the shipping I paid for! Not happy with this new "better" system............. Where are the REAL PEOPLE?

Approximately 13% on the entire amount charged to the customer, including item, postage and tax.
I don't have a problem with it. I get more money here due to better traffic. A product I can sell for $5 locally, sells for $20 + shipping here. I'll gladly give ebay $3.00.

It's just gotten a LOT more expensive than it was when I used to sell things here. I expected $10 final value fee honestly.
It is what it is. But I know ebay doesn't protect the sellers all so that's really what bothers me. The buyer could pull all sorts of shenanigans and then not only did I not make money but I post my item and lost additional money...

yes in my case it’s 15+%. i sold $150 and they took $23. i always put the actual shipping cost and taking fees from that as well is hurting since i’d be the one to shoulder what ebay takes from the shipping fee. will consider selling elsewhere.

The Net Proceeds are not the amount you get. The net proceeds are what the buyer paid (Your final selling price plus what the buyer paid for shipping) minus what fees ebay charges you. You will only get paid your selling price of the item minus the fees ebay charged you on the item.

Yeah, it's a real blast selling on eBay.
They have really been pushing for "promoting" (seems like you almost have to promote if you want your listing noticed) the item you're selling and that's an extra 7.5% or more "based on the items ad rate and final sale price, tailored to each of your listings to help you find the optimal balance between performance and cost". Then your final value fee and It usually ends up where they take over 20% of your sale in the end. If you're selling for someone and charge 20-30% then you factor in ebays cut of the hypothetical 20% and the person you're selling for will be lucky to get 50% of what their item sold for. I don't know about you but I wouldn't be too happy losing 50% of what an item sold for! eBay seems to have had a monopoly on the online sales for the longest time, but I heard some of the newer resale sites are pretty good, especially Mecari. Selling on eBay is like being in an abusive relationship. You want to leave because you know it's not right but you don't know how to live any other way so you just accept things for the way they are.

I had an ebay representative tell me that I could use invisible ink or some otherethod of "marking" my item with an identifier that would only be known to me so when a buyer claimed an item didn't work and shipped the item back that the identifier would prove if they sent back your actual item or if they sent you a faulty item they claimed was yours. It's not like people actually do such things and eBay obviously puts their sellers first, so it's just another example of a perfect system in a perfect world. Lol
